I don't think she does, nor has any idea about the nuclear weapons complex that accounts for over 60% of the Energy budget.
Powell, yes, was a former miltiary man that went to the State Department. However, he was out of the miltiary for years before that. So, I doubt Peatraus would resign his command and move over to the State Department in about two years.

I like Kasich, so I hope he doesn't get picked for VP. A well respected guy like Petraus would do well.

Romney - Religious issues. Tea party supporters think he has multiple wives and has a program on HBO.
Huckabee - Huckleberry is living proof that Bill Clinton couldn't have grown up in Arkansas. There's nobody in that state with an IQ over 50.
Gingrich - Too many women in his past, although he's the only possible candidate who knows where Leetonia is.
Petraeus - Not a "man's man" kind of general. Too wimpy and professorial. Probably chokes the chicken in the bathroom.
Giuliani - Never met a terrorist attack he didn't try to exploit for personal gain.
Jindal - Limp-wristed Southerner. Reminds me of Clay Shaw and his butt buddies from that JFK movie.
Jeb Bush - Too closely connected to dimwit brother. Parents always thought he was the dumbass of the family anyway.
Crist - Could probably sing "Rocky Top", but too much yesterday's news to be considered a serious candidate.
Graham - See Jindal above. Probably portrayed by Kevin Bacon in same movie.
Christie - Puts foot in mouth more often than Joe Biden.
Bolton - Hahahahahahahahahaha!!! A conspiracy waiting for a theory to happen.
Cain - Thought he was great in that Lois and Clark thing on TV.
Thune - Nope, too many limerick possibilities with the name.
Daniels -No way, no how.
And that brings us to the likely nominee...
The former Alaska governor, Fox News contributing analyst and reality show superstar, Sarah Palin. Contrary to what Karl Rove says, this woman really has the gravitas to run. If you don't think so, her man-bitch, Todd, will be seeing you shortly.

Actually Colin Powell always felt a certain way on certain issues. He disagreed with the administration he was a part of and they all dissassociated from each other. He is not a flip flopper. You want an all-time flip flopper, see John McCain circa 2000 compared to 2008.

I'll agree Powell isn't as much of a flip-flopper as most politicians. He is fairly consistent.
Having said that, he's no Republican. I don't care what he calls himself. He openly supported Obama in the last election. 'Nuff said.

I'd be okay with Powell. Actually I think Powell/Petraus would be interesting but there's too much military in that ticket for it to ever work.

Nah Nah Nah...didn't say he was terrible. I think he's honorable. BUT...he's no Republican and certainly NO conservative. Interesting that he has preached for moderates and showed disdain for the far right/far left over his political life, yet when the most centrist/moderate candidate of our lifetime ran in 2008, he turned his back on him and his "party". He's part of the Dem Lite group and I have no use for them, the Tea Party has no faith in him, nor do a significant number of Republicans.

You think McCain was a conservative??
The ONLY time he preached conservatism was when he was standing next to Palin. You remember McCain was pushing for what the Dem's want now...the Dream Act? McCain was for TARP...flew back even special to vote for it. Yes...John McCain was a moderate Republican/Dem Lite special. If you line up McCain's stances with Powell's stances, you won't see much daylight between the two. McCain was a bit more hawkish, but that's about the only one they differed much on.

The moment he screwed up is when he choose Palin as his running mate.

I agree with your definition and thanks for seconding his conservatism equalled his appearances with Palin, however I don't agree that he "screwed up"
