I wouldn't be too hard on Gilbert/Ferry, despite the fact that the Cavs are now a bunch of average role players, they are arguably more suited for Lebron than the current Heat team is. If you have Lebron you need to have a few things: guards who can move without the basketball/can hit 3s and then big guys who can bang and get rebounds (Lebron isn't a great shooter, plus his style will lead to long jumpshots for others). I understand that. Mo Williams is an off the ball PG, so he worked alongside Lebron. Varejao has much more value playing alongside someone like Lebron because he moves well without the ball and can play the pick and roll. Jameson can knock down the perimeter jump shot. However, after 7 years, that is the team that surrounded Lebron. The Cavs sucked. I know that they arent title contenders but they are better than what they played last night. They were more caught up in this hoopla than Bron was. They played scared and timid and they let the pressure of the game get to them.......no excuse for that performance
The crowd was awesome. We were up in 229 and had pretty good view of everything. Saw a couple guys in Bron jerseys get showered with beers and escorted out of the arena. The first guy had it coming, he was standing up and taunting the crowd when Bron went off in the 3rd quarter.
Positive note: Snowdays over at the Jake looks pretty solid.
