So, how many people are going to want to travel to Qatar for the WC? You just know that's a huge tourist destination. Nothing like visiting a country that's 130+ in the summer, not to mention the medieval laws.

True, I guess if Rhode Island sat above huge oil fields, it could have 12 stadiums in its state, too.

I dont think I can plausibly see how traffic and transportation is gonna work in this country when its population triples.

I want to know what are they going to do when a team wins a big game and their fans celebrate in the streets with alcohol? You know it's going to happen, laws or not. Are they going to arrest tons of fans from some country? Not a great way to play host.

I honestly wonder if they will induce some sort of month long law allowing stuff. That or have international law declared on Qatar and let people to whatever the fuck they wanna do!!!!

I was watching FSC this morning. Eric Wynalda said that "we will know who voted for Qatar if they win when they announce where those stadiums are going to end up" in reference to the fact that they are taking down the stadiums after the WC and giving them to other countries.

Exactly. You know the FIFA officials are going to be making big money on this, whether or not the games are a financial success.

seriously. i'm no expert at square mileage or anything like that but i think it'd pretty much be like putting 12 stadiums in the northeast ohio corridor

Don't like the decision to hold the WC in Qatar because of the extreme heat, other than that, they'll do a great jop of hosting the tournament. They have unlimited resources.
