Nope only stating the obvious as to why his boss and his relationship has soured. Short of drawing a picture I'm not sure what you can do to help people some times.

I may be in the minority here...but I guess I don't see what Commander and Jaamel (which I'm pretty sure is the same person) are seeing as the obvious problem here.

Are you implying that the OP should have known that the kids' conditions weren't as serious and should have just gone into work? Because that may be dumber than the boss being a dick about it.

I guess you probably should have stated the obvious Commander/Jaamel...because I don't see it.

Jaamal not Jaamel - All i was saying is that for the boss to get angry he probably did't appreciate a text over a serious matter and that he probably has a history at work of either being sick, coming in late, etc etc. Maybe he bailed on an important meeting? Maybe he could have called the mother so he wouldn't miss another day of work. Story sounds a little bogus and i bet we're not getting all the details, just saying the guy doesn't sound like your idea employee, wouldn't want to rely on him if he worked on my team.

So, despite the fact that the boss seems to have gotten mad because the original poster called off, and not how he called off, this somehow became a thread of "my boss hates that!" or "I'm a boss and I like to bang my employees in the ass when they sext me I mean text me".

Also, the biggest asshole in thread is actually reporting posts?! Wow....dude can dish it out but can't take it. Who's calling the whaaaaaaaambulance now you fuckstick? FYI, if you're gonna call a guy out for being a bad/lazy employee and/or a bad father, you better be ready to accept all the flak thats given to you for being a complete and utter prick who's only potential "shots" at parenthood have sat crusting up the inside of old tube socks in his mother's basement.

You got all of that out of his original post?! My God! You must have special powers.

Quick...tell me what I'm thinking right now.

If you guessed "this Jaamal guy is a total douchewad who is a prime example of why I'm pro-choice"...you'd be right!

Please show me where I called him a bad father. I didn't so nice FAIL "fuckstick". I said in most cases a text would not be considered proper technique for calling off of work. Its wimpy, would not fly at my place of employment. Many ppl on here agreed with me, sorry if I didn't sugar coat it for this whiny ass the way some people did.

WOW! Now I was making up a story about my kids being in the ER so I could get out of work. You got me now. Call the mother so I don't miss another day? BRILLIANT! Or since the mother is my wife cause that's how my coming in late slacker pussy ass was raised. I'll just tell her some douche on Ohio Chatter said I shouldn't give a shit about my kids, and if I call off he'll call me names on the internet.

Commander of Douche, your place of employment has nothing to do with this conversation and no one cares what would fly at your job.

Lol dude nobody gives a shit what you think is or isn't proper technique for calling off work. If you want to post something like that in response to a post then so be it, but then don't act like people are being immature or unreasonable when they totally make fun of you for it, because you came off like a complete asshole. Then you have the nerve, AFTER acting like a complete asshole AND calling somebody a whiner, to report other people in this thread?

That may be the case where you work, but it certainly isn't the case where I work, and I am assuming the same for GDs place of employment. If the boss was so appalled at receiving a text he wouldn't have just texted back. He would have called to yell at him. Texting back to yell at him is wimpy and makes the boss a pussy.

If they have an establish history, or a company protocol that says its alright, its one thing. I have never heard of such thing, and he had not specified that this was the case, only that after he texted him his boss texted him back. Thus based on the information I was given/my own experience I figured this is where the issue arose.

Most bosses are either from the baby boom generation, or are generation x. These type of bosses do not like texting. Even if the boss is beyond generation x, he/she probably would still prefer a call, because it is more personal and it is much quicker. Texting your boss (whether he responded or not) was an idiotic move, especially since it was an emergency. Seems like a cop out to me. Next time grow a sack and give him a call. I don't blame him for being pissed at you.
