I love how any time an OSU player is mentioned in any discussion relating to the NFL, some people have nothing better to say than "take off your scarlet and gray glasses". What the Browns actually need? They have the worst receiving core in the NFL, so I think improvement in that are would be considered a need. I never said he'd be a 2nd round pick, he's a guy to look at in round 4-6. The guys you brought up aren't really comparable. Sanz is better than Robiske was at that point at OSU...plus he has better hands and does a better job of getting open. Cribbs is not a wide receiver, he only plays there because the Browns have such shitty receivers and he's someone that can make plays with the ball in his hands. Stuckey is a journeyman who shouldn't be starting on any NFL team. MoMass is a 2nd receiver, not a slot guy so that's not really a good comparison.
Sanzenbacher fits a need the Browns have and can be had at a relatively cheap price in the 4-6th rounds. You saw how well McCoy did with Shipley at Texas, and Sanz is basically a slower version of Shipley. The Browns don't have (other than maybe Evan Moore who's a tight end) that go-to possession receiver who finds holes in defensive zones. Haven't had that since Jurevicious. I think you, like most haters see OSU and then immediately shut off. If he played for any other school, you might be more open to evaluating him more objectively.
No one thought the guy was anything when he got to Columbus and he ended up starting freshman year and becoming Pryor's favorite target. He's going to be a productive pro.
