That's what I'm thinking, too. Our last move was miserable because of all our books (we have one room that has floor-to-ceiling bookshelves all the way around it, and another room that is close). I still like the tangible feel of real books, but the convenience of the Kindle is a big draw.

I'm hoping that Mrs. FFT buys me one for Christmas, but we'll see.

I am thinking about getting a kindle, I like to read but don't have much time. Going on deployment mid next year and to me it's a must. BUT I also don't want to pay for books cause well I can torrent them. Does anyone know if you can upload books to the kindle from torrents?

I'll let you know tonight. I downloaded a few torrents (legally, of course) so I'm going to load them up when I get home.

If they are in ePub or PDF I believe so.

Or you can use Calibre to convert them.

See, I love all the books we have. Eventually going to turn one of the rooms in our basement into a library with bookshelves the whole way around.

When the zombacalypse hits at least I won't be short on reading material.

I def think I'm gonna get one if I know for sure pdf or epub can be transfered to the kindle. I have a shit ton of books on pdf/epub right now that would last me years.
