Yes, I'm a nerd. Anyone playing?

I played retail for about 2 years. I quit because it consumed me. I just started back up playing a free private server that doesn't take nearly as much time.

No but i am intrigued as a former Ultima Online nerd. I just don't have the time because I know what those games can do to you. Also I don't think it would like it as much as I did UO and the graphics are a little too corny for me.

No, but my kid is looking for a laptop and wants to play the game...how demanding is the specs? I was hoping to stay under 600 bucks on a lappy.

I played UO for YEARS and left before the gay Samarai shit.

If you are interested in the free server. I can lead you the right way. I've played only 2 nights for a couple hours and have my toon up to what it would take in about 2 weeks on the retail servers.

Mantooth

This is the laptop I've been playing on since I started back up and it actually runs it better than my Desktop did.

It's not as demanding as most games but when you get into raid content with a lot of things happening, it makes a HUGE difference. Also, if you don't feel like ponying up the cost for it, you can get him on free private servers but if he is wanting to play with friends, it's a pain to pay for.

I played on a free shard for awhile but haven't played in a long time. I quit not long after AOS came out, all the expansion got to be too much and I went to college.

Yeah, if I play UO anymore, it's on a free shard. I can't get into it anymore and I really like WoW because I'd rather have objectives to making my character better rather than casting spells and crap over and over and over for .1 skill.

Never got into WoW...Glad I didn't too....I don't have the time anymore, I tend to get 1, maybe 2 nights of late night call of duty in for 2 hours or so now that the baby is sleeping all night.

The specs aren't demanding. I mean hell, the game came out in 2004 I think.

Also, MMOs aren't my bag.

That's how I am. Although, if someone's looking for unintentional hilarity, it doesn't get much easier than listening to me trying to explain how I look at them as time-wasters...while explaining that it's okay that I spent 130 hours on Final Fantasy 12, have over 150 in Elder Scrolls Oblivion and a bit over 100 in Dragon Age Origins and all its downloadable content, while routinely hitting the 60-80 hour mark on other RPGs.

Yeah, although I feel like Elder Scrolls and things like that the time is spent actually doing things or side quests instead of being mostly about grinding.

On this private server, there is no need to grind. Went to level 22 in 2 nights (maybe 7 hours total). That would have taken me about 2 weeks on retail. A Deadmines run took me from 17 to 21.

Use the parental control functions if you get the game (you can limit how much time he can spend on the game).

Thx. This whole thing is a reward to him for having his grades up...so too much time could kill those good grades.

As funny as the Leroy Jenkins video is, it's totally staged in my opinion.

Played for a little while like 2 years ago and got to 57ish and didn't feel like buying the exp. Just started playing again about 2 weeks ago and just got to 80 yesterday. The new exp looks pretty cool. Pretty upset that I spent 60 total on both exps recently and now they are only 5 and 10 dollars.
