Yeah he was injured, but believe he is back now....I talked to him Friday at the game and he was very frustrated. He's a starting TE, but looking at his stats you can't tell cause they don't use him much in the passing game.

Stats list him in 7 games played , only 3 catches.

Feel bad for Sam Miller and Chase Hoobler....both have to go through coaching changes. Kent's coach resigned and IU's coach was fired. Max made a smart move committing to Nebraska.

^^my point exactly, I feel bad for him. He is a receiving TE and they aren't using him to his strengths.

And Akron's coach is probably on shakey ground.

not trying to make this about me, but we got a new coach here as well....not fun!!

We went from the spread passing attack, to the triple option....and as you all know I'm not an option QB. Haha just focusing in school now and graduating a year early.

Congratulations are in order! This is the most important part, essentially. Good luck with the rest of your schooling and eventually getting a job in your field.

If you look at his icon , he is already outstanding in his field :)

Thanks pit, a 4year degree with 2 minors in 3 years makes for a busy schedule....add on 4 days of work every week and I barely have enough time to sleep. Lol well worth it though.

Quite a stellar career for Kyle Simmons at ONU.

Very good careers for both the ONU guys....

Is everyone on vacation now or what? No way should an Orrville thread get to the bottom of the page! haha

DIII and DIV All-Ohio out later today around 6:30. Mason should be on 1st team since he was POY on defense in the district.

He very well could be D-4 Def. POY, but I'm guessing not since he's only a junior.

I'll guess that Turner and Simpson also land somewhere on the All-Ohio list too.

I gotta say....watching those two play for the Red Riders was about as fun as any players we have ever had. Josh Bowman was always flying to the ball and Kyle....well what else can you say about Kyle.....maybe...electrifying? What a treat to have those two as part of that Red Rider Tradition! I still think Simmons was a year or two ahead of his time....look around at some of the top programs now and their QB's are very similar to Kyle. Good luck to them both as they finish their Education. We are all proud.

He had the arm to go with the speed. Made him very difficult to gameplan for. Tough as nails too.

don't think he ever missed a play on offense his senior year. Toughness you cannot teach.

I remember a conversation (heated at times) with a fellow Rider fan over on JJ. He swore up and down that Kyle playing both ways (QB/DB) was a bad idea, that he would end up getting hurt. I disagreed saying it was imperative that he play both ways as he was probably the best athlete on the team....and that he had the toughness for it.

It was one of the few times that I guessed right. :)

We've built a football tradition on guys just like Kyle. I am glad Coach D keeps the best on the field whenever he can.
