Did anyone grab an extra "Season in Review" booklet with all the stats from the banquet last night? I'd love a copy if so. BRF has hooked me up two years in a row.

We can make copies at our next underground meeting.....we'll be finalizing our trip to "somewhere" to scout a certain "someone" that may or may not be 7 feet tall.

Look, I edited again! LOL!

rr1, why would you scout, according to oqb in post #237, a rumor?

It is a rumor which you don't need to ask or question about because you know the gossip around Orrville just like everyone else in this town......

Gotta be thorough. If he's just a figment of our imagination...then it's still a solid vacation. Maybe we can find some linemen for next football season.

I gotta be honest with you oqb, except the stuff posted on here, I don't know the gossip around town.

Looking forward to seeing you guys get out of your Region again this year.
Tough football after that.
We have every intention of making up for the disaster we brought on ourselves with B. Hartley.

Knights, we are just hoping we can stay in region 14.....we are usually in region 13 and it is a much tougher region to get out of. Although Mooney, Ursuline, Stueby are all out of there now but could make a return after they realign the divisions.

I know we are all praying for region 14 again.

No BRF You sound exactly like your ----------------------------self.
just another example of the "I can dish it out but can't take it" mantra you seem to live by.

Now, back on the topic of Football.....
Who's the early favorite in the OCC next year?
Can't be Ashland (no QB in waiting for that style of offense)
Certainly not Madison or Senior (both need better talent at head coach position)
What about Woo (I hear great things about the new chief)
Maybe Lex (still trying to establish tradition-they NEED a strong 2011)
Possibly Orrville (losing a good Sr. class...but that never seems to matter)
Could it be Clear Fork????........(2010s biggest surprise)

Any thoughts on this?

Yes, I have a thought or two. First: I give another ROFLMAO at your lame attempt on analysis. Then second: Basic Rectal Function is a good thing. So you fail on your "crack"....loser. But thanks for dropping by with your attempt at telling it like it is.

If we are talking about the OCC, here is my take on the league next year:

Lexington benefitted a lot from that Mansfield Senior situation a few years ago...a lot of kids moved out and went to Madison/Lexington....I think those 2 playoff years for the Minutemen were evident of that...had a little more talent than usual and had better coaching than the previous school. This year who knows how well they would've done without all those injuries, but we will see how they do next season. I know I hated playing Coach Payne's Minutemen....it was like playing a bunch of little Paynes, with that same attitude he has.

Coach Valentine is a great coach over there in Ashland, he always seems to prepare his teams well...they have started a great tradition, and those "rebuilding years" will start becoming "reloading years". They will be slow to start, but don't count them out.

Wooster seems to have great athletes year in and year out, but the one thing that everyone outside the situation sees a coaching change is needed.....time will tell, and I would bet money on McCreary will be back. Should have another year like this one...playoffs in question though.

Clear Fork has a good thing going in the Valley. They finally got 2 HUGE monkeys off their back in beating Orrville for the first time in 11 meetings, and winning the OCC. I look for them to be in a rebuilding year with a lot of young players starting. They will have some upsets in the conference though, they do EVERY year.

Madison/West Holmes/Senior are about in the same category....All have players coming back, coaches are the same from the previous year, and they will be well tested going into next year. One of these teams could surprise us....My pick would be West Holmes.

Orrville will reload like they do every year. Main area of focus is Offensive line...graduated 4/5 starters. Also graduated Simpson a back to back 1,000 yard rusher, and all around great player Pirman who could beat you many ways. We return all skill guys including WR/DB's Turner and Brenner, Monheim and Davis at RB/LB, QB Lichti (who now has 14 games under his belt going into his junior year). Dylon Lemon TE/OLB, Kicker Dylan Tanner (5 fg's this past year) Ronald Lehtomaki OL/DL, Trevor White DL.

Interesting take OrrQB,

I noticed you didn't pick a favorite. Sounds like Lex-Orr-Ash are your candidates. I'm going with Lex until at least next August.

The situation with Madison & Senior is deplorable. Both schools have talent year in, year out. They are lacking strong leadership that guys like Dana Woodring and Stan Jefferson used to provide.

....And Wooster, McCreary was a good player and coach for the Generals, but beating Orrville has been a problem. I keep hearing Wooster is after Mark Solis, if they get this guy....lookout, hes the real deal. A proven winner everywhere hes been. Twinsburg just fired him and I haven't yet heard where hes landed. The OCC (Senior, Madison, Wooster) would all be a good fit.

Oh, BRF
At least my lame attempt at analysis, was analysis. Something seldom seen in your posts.
Also, before you call me loser, get a copy of the county academic report card and look in the mirror.

Maybe, at some point we can talk sports without the sniping...
until then, I'll continue to slap you down and tell it like it is....
and you'll continue to get slapped down and just, well.......tell.

Have a nice day tattletroll.

Bloody, my top 3 are Orrville, Lexington, and Wooster.

Wooster definitely needs a change in leadership, and absolutely Solis would be a great fit for the Generals. Lexington will be tough, they had tons of injuries this past year and at one time had a lineman playing QB...should be interesting to see how the league shakes out.

Toothbrush, IMO you are a little harsh on the coaches at both Madison and Senior, both of whom have had just one season. I don't know Coach Bradley at Sr., but the Tygers were 6-4 in 2010. Sean Conway at Madison is a very good coach whose track record at his previous job, Crestview, was excellent.

Solis would be interesting. Guy has had a lot of success, but you'd think that success would keep him in one place, but he's had what, 3 HC positions in the last 5 or 6 years? That raises a red flag. And he basically got canned at Brunswick. That might be a risky hire for Wooster. Would he be a good hire in terms of a football coach? Yep. But there's some risk from where I see it. Said he wants to go somewhere that appreciates football (indicating that Brunswick didn't)....is Wooster that place?

Me too. It always has potential to be that town again, but it will take more than a firebrand coach to make it happen. Winning cures all, and they've done that....but beating Orrville and making the playoffs would help even more.

McCreary has been overseeing offseason weight training, which leads me to believe he is still the guy in the khaki shorts on Wooster's sidelines next year. :(.

Plant....
You make a strong point, I may be a little harsh, but it's a harsh world and I'm a harsh guy. Look at the situation from a Mansfield fans point of view...You have 2 large schools with an abundance of gridiron talent, yet upstart Lex and D4 Orrville & CF have been eating your lunch. Not to mention Ashland, a decades long whipping boy now whips you. The talent is there, so whats missing?
To sum it up, its a little like Orrville getting spanked by the likes of a WCAL school.

Plant & RR1...
First, RR1, I'm pretty sure you mean't Twinsburg when you said Brunswick. Luke Beal (2000-2009 at Fredricktown) took over for area icon Rich Nowak at Brunswick last year. Beal went 5-5 (I see your point-Plant). Solis has been alot of places and ruffled alot of feathers but the guys a winner. There is no doubt he climbed the ladder looking for higher and higher profile jobs and Twinsburg didn't work out. That doesn't mean he won't find a home, numerous quality coaches have bounced around before settling in.
Hell, you guys may be right, he may just be a firebrand, red flag raising, troublemaker (but thats been said about many coaches (Thom McDaniels, Lee Owens...Bobby Knight, etc.) My point is, if your to quick to judgement, you may miss out on a difference maker. Now I ask you guys...Can Wooster, Madison & Senior afford not to at least interview the guy?

RR1, Solis was at Crestview, Elyria, and then Twinsburg. Not Brunswick, slip of the typing fingers I see :)

Of course there is a Solis to Wooster thread out there already.
