I'm sure that DSJ has no intelligence about Shadyside and reads Ohio Chatter for their information.

vavrok isnt a good coach at all. The only reason he won anything was because of talent. Hence the reason for the difference in the scores between the 2 games. Bridgeport will be back to what they usually are next year.

Good luck to the Tigers today, and this is coming from a Beallsville guy who took my fair share of losses to shadyside ;)

Delphos winning 28-0. They are punishing Shadyside on both sides of the ball.

Men vs. Boys. 35-0 now, still a minute to go in the first half. Is it just me or is DSJ running up the score? They called two TO's with less than two minutes left to get the last TD.

This game solidifies the public vs private argument. One school shouldn't be this much better in a state championship game.

Over the past 3 years in the lower division (4-6) private schools are 8-for-8

And the three years before that...the publics were 2-1 in D4 (oh, and only 3 teams were in the championship...Coldwater, Mooney, and John Alder), 3-0 in D5 (with three different publics beating three different privates), and 1-2 in D6, (with Shadyside on the end of a 17-0 beating at the hands of a public school).

The public v. private argument is huge in DV and DVI. The public schools in those divisions are small towns with a couple thousand people at best (What does Shadyside have- 1500?). Shadyside has maybe 50 people in their senior class, all residing there. That means 25 guys, 5-10 who play football and more realistically 5 who are good enough to play football if you know what I mean. There is just not enough talent pool to draw from to compete with private schools that can draw from a much larger area.

I agree. I was watching the game at home. DSJ played their starters up to the beginning of the 4th quarter when they were up by 60. Also, it was just the score--- the players and the fans were actually like complete d-bags in my opinion late in the game. Stay classy DSJ.

So kick the private schools out...and then watch Coldwater, Versailles, St. Henry, and Maria Stein Marion Local win ALL of the state championships! Gee...that's a much better solution!!!

I've said it on the other thread, but I'll point it out here too. In Division 4-6, the same 8 teams have absolutely dominated. Mooney, Ursuline, Delphos St. John, and Newark Catholic have 18 total state championships in those divisions (I guess, 19 now). Coldwater, Versailles, St. Henry, and Maria Stein Marion Local have 17 total state championships in those divisions. It's the same PROGRAMS every year that continue to do well and win a majority of the titles in divisions 4-6.

So go ahead and cry about how unfair it is that the privates do well in the smaller divisions. And then when you move them out...go ahead and cry about how unfair it is that the MAC does well in the smaller division. And then when you move them out, you can hand out participation certificates and juice boxes to all the teams so nobody feels bad anymore.
