First, it's a $630 iPad. So, it is a (small) discount, about $75 when figuring in tax as well. Second, I need the money since my current girlfriend has been out of work for a few months (just started a new job this week) and money is tight for the holidays. I wouldn't expect him to give me it for free either, I'd expect him to try to make some money off it. Just the way our relationship has been, monetarily, since I finished undergrad. He won't give money, I won't ask for money. That isn't to say he wouldn't help me out, but there would be interest involved if I had to take a loan from him.

Third ... why am I arguing with you on an internet message board about the monetary relationship I have with my dad?
