we'll see, but i'm with imex here. i typically only go through about 4 discs per month. and i think i pay extra for bluray. since i stream about the same number of things that i do on discs, i'm tempted to go down.

Well because I'll probably (almost definitely) never stream movies. So... why should MY prices go up while somebody else's go down - just because of that? It doesn't make sense to me. Granted, it's not a whole lot of money, but that's not the point.
If they don't want to send movies out on disk anymore, then just drop that whole part of it and go to streaming only. And I'll get my movies somewhere else. Which is probably gonna happen now that there are other options.

Don't jack around with it.

Wow. Increasing prices? I would have thought Netflix would have dropped their prices before raising them. Dumb.

Still a good deal for me. I have the single DVD plan and go through 3 DVDs a week, (actually, just rip them and save them to a harddrive to watch later). I also stream.

I've never had a problem with picture quality on any of the movies I've streamed.

Seriously, in our capitalistic economy? You'd think cell phone companies would be dropping prices too, but that'll never happen.

When they change prices they usually,grandfather you in under your current deal, at least they did me last time.

I've found that the library for Instant Watching is crap. Hopefully they expand to all released movies if thy are going to go to this new plan.

I specifically wondered if they were HD though. My connection is shit (Verizon 3MB DSL, which is a joke) and I'm considering switching to TW. Since my connection is shit, my streams suffer. So I didn't know if they were HD or not.

Depends on what you're using to stream Netflix and it also depends on the movie or show.

No one does. HBO sells too many dvds still for that to happen.

Netflix is clearly trying to go to streaming only, because it would save them a ton of money.

But it cant happen over night. Im actually surprised at how fast they got their most recent deal done with Paramount, MGM, and Lions Gate. It cost them $1 Billion. I think they are currently trying to buy the rights to all the Miramax films, but so is Google, so that should be an interesting battle.

They have rights to certain films and deals with all these production companies...but it is going to take awhile before they strike deals to allow said films and shows to be streamed instantly. They are certainly on the right path though, and so far ahead of the competition that the companies will probably give Netflix the first bid on anything.

if the deal goes through were you can pay to stream/on demand movies at the house the night they release in theatres, netflix will suffer huge.
