I know you are just trying to boost your post count, but sometimes it's better to shut the hell up.darbypitcher22;570189 wrote:Kanye is an absolute mess right now

Man, I dont hate Kanye @ all, but I guess im not as huge of a fan as most of you are.
Best since Illmatic? This CD is NOT better than reasonable doubt or me against the world, ...theres no getting around that IMO

I don't think Reasonable Doubt was Jay's best album. I also don't think those Illmatic or either of those two albums can be compared to this one. Fifteen years ago hip-hop was a completely different game. I will say that I think this album is one of the best in terms of production that I've ever heard.

I'd have to agree with this.

You can get a digital copy on Amazon for 99 cents instead of the "Black Friday" price of $3.99

Ehh, I don't know.. Reasonable Doubt is pretty hard to top in terms of Jay's other releases. He's had some good ones though. I'm curious, which one do you think is his best?
I do agree with your comparison argument though. Hip-Hop is just different now than it was back in the 1990's.
To this day though, I still feel Illmatic is the best album ever made. It wasn't the longest album, but it made up for it in quality. At the top of his game, nobody tops NaS, imo.
As far as Kanye's MBDTF, the production, delivery, and style are unmatched this year. I had high hopes for Kid Cudi's MOTM: 2, but outside of 4 or 5 tracks, it disappointed me BIG time.

is MBDTF the best rap/hip hop album of 2010?

Monster is such a dope tune. I've honestly never heard a female rapper kill it like Nicki Minaj does.

Saying MBDTF is the best hip-hop album of 2010 doesn't really mean much..it's not like there's amazing hip hop artists all over the place right now.

Son of Chico Dusty by Big Boi is pretty good. Marberg by Roc Marciano has to be up for album of the year and same with Celph Titled's Nineteen Ninety Now album. Most of the good hip hop is underground. The music on the radio is god awful

The Roots How I Got Over and Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II are in that discussion as well. Hell, Eminem's Recovery is probably honorable mention.

I hear you. But for 99 cents I'll go the legal route.

Just downloaded the album on Amazon, and it's dope (I'm assuming it's okay to use that word when describing a rap album). Big fan of Kanye and this album is well done!

My thoughts exactly. Plus, Ye' deserves some royalties. His beats are worth it.

I enjoyed 808's and Heartbreak.
Was it the greatest album released that year? No, but it was something different. I actually think that album was the turning point of Kanye's career, to the much more mature Kanye we see/hear now musically.

I'm a huge huge fan of the Black Album. Allure and Threat are the only two songs that aren't in my regular rotation. But I agree, Illmatic is in my top three.hoops23;571440 wrote:Ehh, I don't know.. Distant Relatives by Nas & Damian Marley was fantastic. Also, Reflection Eternal's Revolutions Per Minute was good. The Adventures of Bobby Ray was this year, too, but that was more of a pop/rap album.killer_ewok;571811 wrote:The Roots How I Got Over and Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II are in that discussion as well.
