Just like Massillon can call it whatever we want, and we still know their purpose. They are using their great facilities as tool to bring in potential transfers.

As far as athletes getting scholarships to parochial schools I'm sure they do. Just like the kids in Mooney's 14 kid band get a $500.00 scholarship. Just like the kid who transfers to Massillon to play football gets his $5,000.00 dollar scholarship. What is the difference except it's OK for Massillon but not for the parochial school, right?

So then should we not play local High Schools at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium? That is a great facility as well. Or how about at the 'Duck' it was voted a few years ago as the nicest baseball field in Stark County, should we not play local teams there?

About as stupid as this sounds... if you transfer to Massillon to use the indoor facility, Paul Brown Stadium, or the baseball field you are ineligible.skank;694778 wrote:Why should we? Parochial schools (at least the ones in SWO) give aid based on entrance exam scores and financial need. There isn't a single athlete down this way on an "athletic scholarship" of any kind.

Are you going to answer the first question, or just blow past it as usual? If you think that financial aid recipients shouldn't participate in athletics, then it stands to reason that they shouldn't be allowed to participate in any extracurriculars. Agree or disagree?

If that's the reason he went to Massillion then he bought a bill of goods. If it was to use the facilities ok, but to win a title come on.

WE can finally agree on something, Paul Brown is a great facility.
I know because after we've won State Championships there, I went down on the field and celebrated with the rest of the Mooney fans.

Sure, why the hell would you come to Massillon to win a state title, I mean you ain't gonna win one there when you gotta get by, most likely a parochial to get there, then, most likely a parochial to win it. It's tough to beat all star teams.

I am curious to see what the "SKANK SHUFFLER" has to say about this:
Last weekend the Upper Arlington girls swim team won the state championship. Upper Arlington is a Division I PUBLIC school if my memory serves me correct. There were quite a few rather large parochial school teams there and hell, even Massillon might have had a team there. These young ladies deserve a lot of credit beating those all star teams from Cleveland and Cincinnati. Especially since it is the 7th time in a row that they have done it. My goodness they must be recruiting or doing something illegal. How else could they accomplish such a feat. I'm sure it's not just the fact that they are good athletes with an obviously good coach. I think someone should contact the OHSAA and start work on leveling the playing field in girls swimming.

Why would I congratulate St. Ed? Unless of course it went a little something like this, Congratulations on the recruiting class, they won you another state championship.
Furhtermore, why would the focus be on "my beloved public schools"? If anything, the focus should be on your beloved parochial schools, at least by the ohsaa investigators.
