Let everybody play ... Im ok with the same playoffs but atleast put the juggernauts like Mooney and Ursulin in higher divisions since they get the best kids in a huge metro area

Say you took Ursuline and St. John's out of the equation in divisons 5 and 6. The title will still still be won by good MAC teams. Those teams have beaten Ursuline in the state final and compete against St. John's in conference play. You are basically asking for a system that will give state titles to bad teams. The titles aren't going to be distributed evenly if you take out a couple of teams. You will still have good teams and bad teams.

Then let those schools speak for themselves. Other that it sounds like sour grapes. The MAC schools have no problem. Why don't teams try and emulate them?

Our school has been beaten by a private school in the state finals three times.

But they have also beaten a private school twice in the state finals as well.

We have also beaten a number of private schools on the playoff runs.

It def creates a david vs goliath mentality for the public school

It can be tough going against them, but I dont think there should be separate divisions for the both. Maybe some sort of multiplier for a private school with how wide ranging their enrollment is or whatnot.

BUt...i would rather not see separate divisions.

A multiplier is fine, but Open Enrollment schools should also be part of any multiplier system since they can also draw from all over.

Exactly. The people that act like private schools have some huge advantage over open enrollment schools are out of their mind. Go ahead and put a multiplier that isnt designed to screw just private schools, or allow any school (private or parochial) to move up voluntarily.

I would have been ok with the previous proposal is it didn't include the tradition factor, the free lunch factor, and the fact that OE schools were weighted differently from private schools.

Skunk

Your best player on defense is a kid named Taylor

He's from Canton. He "just happened" to show up at Massillon

Please explain how that's not an unfair advantage for your team

Then, look up the word hypocrite in the dictionary (that's a book with a whole bunch of words) Look at the definition - - that's you

After last night it looks like they need to bring a few more Canton kids.

The guy who OCCASIONALLY uses punctuation is going to tell me about a book with a "whole bunch of words"?

You had better use your "book with a whole bunch of words". Can't find it? Maybe it's behind the book with a whole bunch of Jr. High football players names from the surrounding areas.

Bringing in kids from the surrounding area doesn't mean success is definate, although it has worked out well for YOUR school.

Funny that you COMPLETELY ignore his point about your hypocritical views. Rally against Mooney and Ursuline for "getting kids from Boardman, Struthers, etc." yet ignore the fact that you have kids from outside Massillon on your team.

You're about as big of a joke as thinthick, now.

What do you want me to say? We've been through this, Massillon does not hold combines with the intent on attracting kids to their school, despite what rocket or bundy, I forget which, says, (you really need to do a better job of identifying your #4 guy and your #6 guy). I don't know about the Y'town schools, (I'm sure they do something of the sort), but I'm talking about the Cleveland area parochials, the story was a 4 or 6 parter in the Plain Dealer several years ago. More later.

You're not sure of anything. You think/ hope that Youngstown schools have combines etc. but you have no idea

As usual, you just make crap up, and it makes you look stupid

BTW, your post was pretty poorly laid out, with multiple errors. You might want to tighten that up a bit. It's a bad reflection on the stellar education that was provided to you by your outstanding school system :p

How would a multiplier apply to a D1 school with open enrollment?

The same way it would apply to a D1 parochial...it wouldn't.

You would still have to multiply before you divided up the divisions. A D1 school that doesn't have open enrollment may be passed up by a D2 with open enrollment after recalculating the numbers. A D1 school with open enrollment would still stay D1.

Go to PBS oNline & watch Football High. Great documentary. They show several high school teams that would destroy 99% of ANY Ohio team, or Pennsylvania for that matter.

If that's the case it doesn't show when they come to Ohio and play
