Agreed... I have no ties whatsoever to OSU. Just route for them. So I disagree with condemning anyone (player or coach) before, during, or after a game. But, that's for a-whole-nother discussion

I'm shocked that anyone would expect anything less. I mean how many of you have ever been in a locker room when you played like shit for a half? The coach is supposed to call guys out and tell them he expects more.
Quit making this a bigger deal than what it is. And what it is, is what every coach in America does on a regular basis.

The differences is that all indications seem to say that this is something Tressel has never really done before. Had he done something similar at Wisconsin we would have heard about it then and people wouldn't be saying much about this half time tirade.

You can hardly argue with the overall results though. Do players get lax from time to time, of course, the fact that Tressel has been able to keep up the intensity (again for the most part) with out going ballistic is a testament to his communication abilities and coaching staff.

I agree Dynasty...my one knock on Tress has always been he needs to show a little more emotion, both in the lockeroom and and on the sideline. It aint' the Fkn NFL...college kids need a kick in the azz sometimes and they usually respond positively to it.

LOL, no. I'm referring to fans getting pissed at the players and the coach. Refer to the thread about "OSU fans being douche bags" (created by Sportsnlady) for the full story. Hell yes a coach should yell, and get pissed at his players! But why a fan (who has no ties to a school) should get pissed, is beyond me.

Halftime and pregame talks are like political speeches ..The diff between pregame and halftime is halftime cant be thought out or scripted so thouroughly...Give JT credit although he probably did something similar at YSU some time ago ...But that game might have just sent him over the top and everything flowed like a river ....It does happen .....This is a vital talent in the head coaches arsonnel...Being able to fire up his troops before going to battle is a gift ... I have seen a few .... Good stuff................... God I love football ..Best sport ever created....and Ohio State makes the whole state proud ....We all come together for the Buckeyes in this state ...
