All the other sports go by coaches vote ... that's why it's a mess. Coaches vote for their kids first ... don't vote for teams or coaches they don't like.

This is wrestling decide it on the mat. Stick to the criteria. IF a coach bumps a kid around it may cost that kid a title. They know this ahead of time. Sometimes the team is more important than the individual. I bet the wrestlers at Canal Winchester and Circleville like being Mid State League Champions more than one individual placing higher.

Really close! 130 D1 is loaded, but I think Nace has a shot if he gets hot. I have Knul with a shot at 119 at Goshen. Crum (HT) has an outside shot at 189, but D2 189 is a very tall task for a 9th grader. The Aces have a number of kids with shots ....IMO, in addition to the ones you listed, I'd add Foreman and Tipton. I'm not sure who the Aces get to the Schott.....but would guess that maybe they get get 2/3 of the 5 all the way through. Tullius would have had a great shot.....still not counting him out....just a much tougher road as he tries to gut it out with the injury.

That being said....these are just guesses. When they start wrestling this weekend at sectionals everyone has a 0-0 record. Number 1 seeds.....losing records.....it doesn't matter. Everyone starts equal.....you have to go earn it!

I left Forman and Tipton out, sorry they both do have a chance. Who do you think can get out from LE?
You're right though... The season starts Friday!

If Macioce gets a good draw and can get hot, he has a shot to sneak out.....

TV = Luft, Leidecker, Nace
BC = Ankrom
CW = Boswell, Hutchins, Pressley
AC = Chenetski, Tipton,
HT = Settles,
CV = Davis, Kern, Ford (Hwt)
I have several others that have a shot...I think the wrestlers mentioned above are almost locks!
I think there really are 10 other kids that could make it. So Im going to say over!
16 is my number.....Good luck to all the wrestlers!

With the southeast sectional such a travesty, fewer than expected from Round Town, The Elm or FU will even go to districts. 202 wrestlers entered at that sectional. I think the others have between 120 and 150 entered. IF Cv, LE and FU can get wrestlers to district, all should place. Hard work and a little luck will get them in the top 4.

keato5 ... it's the voting that is screwed up with other sports. Favoritism, Seniorism, Cronyism ... a whole lot of -isms that I wouldn't want in wrestling.

I have to get in one more dig at my friend USMCdevil.....:)

Last night I attended the Canal Winchester/Teays Valley basketball game @ TV. As at most MSL Buckeye games, the student sections get into it pretty good (TV students were fantastic BTW). Usually towards the end of a contest when it's apparent the result has been determined, the losing section begins a chant......like "Let's play football...let's play football" or something like that. Or another sports contest that the losing team had recently won between the 2 schools.

Well last night when it was sure that TV would come out on top, the CW student section started the chant......"Let's wrestle.....Let's wrestle!"

Never thought I'd ever hear that out of a CW student section at a CW/TV hoops game! Pretty cool! :)

I think if Macioce and Cowell get a good draw they can both be bracket busters. With both of them beating favorites last Saturday I wouldnt be surprised!
