Where do you draw the line always becomes the question. Listen to wes... if you guys just let the trolls go and don't respond to their provocation it is a lot easier for us to give them infractions and not have to hand out infractions to everyone. We know who the trolls are, but we aren't going to just ban them for being jerks, but we will give them infractions for breaking the rules. As far as when they aren't breaking the rules and just trying to get a rise out of you... IGNORE THEM.

The easiest way to deal with a troll is to ignore them. Their entire purpose is to get you riled up and get you to do things you normally wouldn't. If they get your arguing with them for a few posts in a row about a ridiculous topic, they already won. There is no winning when it comes to talking with a troll. They win the second you engage them with more than 1 or 2 posts.

We can't help it when you guys don't have enough self control to let them just go away.

The only thing that frustrates me is scrolling 4 pages and finding 6 meaningful posts that have any kind of relevance. I agree. We need to find a way to get rid of Capone. I will admit that I have responded to his posts in the past but its hard to ignore him. Its impossible to get through a Browns game thread without reading pages of his garbage. I think somebody has been keeping count of how many times he posts on a Browns thread compared to the number of times on a Steelers thread, its like 20:1. It gets pretty damn annoying

I can't make you guys do it, but try the "report the post" function. Give us a chance to take care of it before you fire back. I understand where you are coming from ytown, but this is an ultra forgiving message board, so if you guys rip right back at them...we are not going to be able to give infractions...simple as that.

I agree that it would be nice to get rid of some of these people, but you can't really do it. If you ban them, they'll just come back as somebody else, and they'll probably come back worse. Unfortunately the best thing you can do is just ignore them

It was the Christmas Eve game when the Steelers won 41-0. It was even the holidays, I'd imagine it's worse for other games.

I could tell they were jealous that Browns fans are true fans that don't just show up during the good times, unlike the Pittsburgh fan base.

Honestly, it seems like I usually don't read the thread until it is out of control. I should probably read through things better, but I am a slacker. I usually check the mod forum when I hop on this site, so that helps me know where the garbage is being spewed.

Like this thread...I didn't even read it until it was about 100 posts in....I have a paying job that I have to attend.

Mods can't be on 24/7, so reported posts are easier to moderate, since the Mod forum is likely the first one the mods check(at least I do) when they get on here. For instance, one of the threads on the HS football forum is 12 pages long, and that's just over the last 4 days or so. I'm only going to skim the 150 posts since I've last read, which means I could miss something. Members should always report a post if they feel it breaks the rules.

First of all I would never put a juvenile kid in an opposing teams jersey and take him to a Cleveland Brpown game ,or a few other teams either .. As an adult you know names are coming your way and maybe some beers ..It is what it is .....I aint saying its right but a pro game in Cleveland aint a day at the zoo so to speak.. It is dangerous for grown men wearing steeler gear in that place ..Why would you put your kid in danger ..The security up there is a joke....Oakland is probably the only other place more dangerous ...Philly also....

I've seen kids act cocky and show their jersey or whatever, basically taking advantage of being untouchable in that environment.

An away game is no place for a kid ..Even if he isnt physically asaulted ...He will be subjected to bad words ,drunken behavior... People keep saying that people need to use their heads and then talking about how the parents are the dumb ones.

The people that need to use their heads are the ones assaulting and cursing at children.

I went to NFL games when I was younger and people had the god damned decency to not be an asshole to a little kid.

I'll take my kid to away games. It won't upset me if people swear around them. I wasn't sheltered as a kid and I am definitely not going to shelter mine. If someone touches them, though, they'll get their ass kicked.
