I think it will be a close one, but ND wins by 7.

Here's how Notre Dame loses: Army's offense dominates time of possession and Notre Dame's offense simply makes a few JV mistakes from the pressure/buzz of playing in Yankee Stadium and can't get the ball back and they lose somewhere along the lines of 21-14.
However Army is not Navy, at least in my opinion. They played Hawai'i and Rutgers tough, but they may have played the weakest schedule of all FBS teams. A four-point win over Eastern Michigan is not impressive, albeit being week one. Beating Kent State (and by the box score had to pass to do it) by fourteen is not all that and a bag of chips. They are 6-4, but with wins against Kent State, Virginia Military Institute, Tulane, Duke, North Texas, and Eastern Michigan. I'm not one to discredit teams very often, but Duke may be the only team on that list with a pulse. But then again, Duke beat Navy later in the year. College football is fickle and that's why I love it.
I don't think Diaco will drop the ball on this one. He really fucked up against Navy. Not to take anything away from the Midshipmen, they are a very formidable team when healthy but that is precisely why the game plan was so crucial. My point is I don't think Diaco will get out-coached again. Notre Dame has been as expected or better than expected against the run in 9/10 games, with great performances against Purdue, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Western Michigan, Tulsa, and Utah. Simply put, the Notre Dame front seven are physical and should do well.
Army is not Navy. Notre Dame wins this one somewhere in the neighborhood of 24-10. (Why am I being an idiot and predicting the score?) Offense needs to not turn the ball over and continue to be efficient with Rees, and the defense needs to play with a chip on their shoulder after that shitty game against Navy.
Also, anyone else think we will see the green jerseys for this game?

Kelly has said a couple times that ND will likely be in green for the Army game.

I don't see ND getting caught up with the option offense again.
I'm also confident, after seeing the game against Utah, that Kelly will not try to force Rees to do too much...and will keep the pressure off of him. We'll see a lot of running plays like we saw against Utah...and then some short passes by Rees with the hopes that Floyd and Kamara will make plays in space. That should help to eliminate any mistakes from Rees.
I'm taking ND by 14 in this one to become bowl eligible.

I feel a lot better about this game after seeing how they played against Utah. I can only hope they can keep up that same level of play because this is definitely a winnable game. Hopefully Diaco will have learned his lesson from the Navy game and have a much better game-plan against the triple option this time.

Calabrese and TJ Jones are listed as starters for this week. Good news on the injury front. Also good to see the other guys step up when they got the opportunity, especially Brian Smith. Riddick's status for USC should be known on Thursday, as he will be practicing this week.

What's funny is people actually care about a game between a 5-5 team(who hasn't beaten anyone good) vs. a 6-4 team(who also hasn't beaten anyone good), the joke in South Bend continues.

You don't root for a team that has beaten anyone good either bud.

ND has lost to every team they play that is ranked 39 or better in rushing,
and won every game against teams ranked worse than that in rushing.
However, I think Army's overall deficit of team speed is going to be too big an obstacle to overcome.

Wow, Mike Floyd doesn't make the final list for the Biletnikoff award:
http://irish.nbcsports.com/2010/11/15/michael-floyd-isnt-one-of-the-10-best-receivers-in-college-football/?related=1
I find this very hard to believe, he has comparable numbers to a lot of guys on that list.

Kona Schwenke weighed in yesterday at 263 lbs and started the season at 245. That's a pretty good sign considering offensive and defensive linemen averaged around 13 pounds of weight loss from beginning of season last year to the end.
