Because they still may not win the state title as there are teams out there that may beat them too.St. Eds better check the mirror.

Glenville lost a reg season game ,but corrupt officiating errased that ....st Eds arguably plays the toughest schedule in the state ,and they have just been demolishing teams...Why should past years be so much involved ,also I might add that Ohio is one the greatest states in HS football but we are being so disrespected this year ...Colerain was in the regional aslo and St Eds wasnt even in that ... they too lost ....Ursulin should be in the top 25 as well ....

It's pretty easy to understand why they aren't nationally ranked. St Ed's is a great team...no doubt about that. But they also crushed a bunch of teams that, while normally are top of the heap, had down years this year.

Their opponents' combined record is 46-49. Not exactly great. St Ed's went 10-0 and didn't even get one of the top 2 seeds in their region. Like I said, I think they are a good team. And they tried to schedule some really elite teams this year. It's not their fault that Mooney, Elder, Benedictine, DeSales, St. X, and St. Ignatius are all "down" this year compared to what they normally are. If all of those teams are performing like they usually do, and Ed's still rolls through the schedule...there is no doubt that they would have gotten national attention.

UrsulinE isn't ranked because they are Div V. Like it or not, small schools do not get respect.

Polls are a joke! Period! Look at the college rankings...its horrible. I think coaches should rank teams and thats it.

Good plan. Let's let the coaches determine everything. They don't have any bias towards their team/conference and are completely neutral when ranking teams.

/sarcasm.

This. Also have to factor in that they've been off the national radar for a few years, so they were kind of an unknown at the beginning of the season.

Ursuline isn't ranked simply because they're not one of the 25 top teams in the country.

I would say Glenville, Colerain and St. Edward were the top three programs in Division 1 heading to playoffs. Which one is still in the playoffs?

I can't believe that Hilliard Davidson is getting overlooked by so many people. They're the defending champs, and they are undefeated. I would put them ahead of Colerain any day (as a matter of fact, Hilliard would have been ranked ahead of Colerain if they were in the same region). Colerain coasted through their regular season because they didn't have to play anyone worthwhile, and it showed in the playoffs. To put them in the top three of D1 going into the playoffs is just crazy, IMO.

Both Pick Cent and Hilliard are very good. That's going to be one hell of a game!! I'd love to see it.

Ive seen 4 teams in the top 25 play this year and Pittsburgh Central will be soon .. Ursulin could have beaten all of those teams ..just saying.... I know we have had some really great teams in the past get slighted and Ohio is getting jobbed this year big time

I would say you are way off.Whitmer had an early season loss(center was out of game, lots of bad snaps and the loss was to a 9-1 team that made the playoffs) but played 4 teams that made the playoffs and 3 are still alive in the playoffs.Just wait and see.Whitmer is fast and a virtual unknown and we love the underdog role as we keep cranking out wins.Probably 6 or 7 D1 players on the team.I say again, better look in the rearview mirror as Whitmer is coming up on you very quick.

Yes, I have...twice in fact. I've also watched most of the consensus Top 25 at least once. Trust me, the Irish are good...but they ain't that good.

I wonder if it's because they recruit? The OHSAA has turned a blind eye to this so they'll get the recognition in Ohio. They are a very good team, but if they and others played by rules that sholud have been implemented a long time ago how really good would they be?
