not really sure why other than we already have five home games scheduled. shadyside has talked to both john glenn and zanesville. john glenn open friday night because of away game but not sure if they will have enough people to work. zanesville, open saturday, offered two options. first, we pay $2000 and take gate, 50-50 etc. and second we pay nothing and zanesville keeps everything. this is still a work in progress. as you can see there are several options available but time is running out.

fyi- I was in our weightroom today. Shadyside was brought up in conversation. Our guys were impressed with both of your running backs.

shadyside's rbs should hold their own. marling really wasn't a factor until the 5th game. for some reason coaches wanted to use heath as a fullback. after barnesville game he changed their minds. sedinger on the other hand also got a late start. the coaches wanted to use jefferies as a running back but not being able to hold on to ball and being tackled easily led to his demise. even though he only seen spot duty early, sedinger didnt start at running back until after youngstown christian game when he ran for over 120yds. i think he ended up leading the team in rushing. if i remember correctly he was listed at 165 lbs. last year. seen him in weightroom and he told me he now goes 190 lbs. throw in frosh schumacher(6'1' 190lbs.), with all the linemen coming back, this should be our strong point.

They are still talking about Muskingum University or possibly Sulsberger. I told him Cambridge was away week 3 as well if that helps. It sounds like money might be the holdup??? Just a guess on my part. I don't understand why we can't play at either one of our fields or what all goes in to negotiations for neutral sites. I know I am not the only GCC fan who really wants to play Shadyside and would be happy to travel wherever to play. Let's Git'r Done!

^^^^^agreed. sign a two year home and away deal and be done with it. were really not particular whom we play as its been a struggle for us to schedule anybody the last several years. for instance covington KY holy cross last year.

Neither of our schools are hard to find, but if a neutral field is a must.........between Sulsberger, Muskingum, or Cambirdge, something should be able to get done.

seems talks with GCC are at a standstill. neither wants to travel. AD says harrison central has crept into the picture as their week 3 game with a team from canada fell through. stay tuned.

Wow. It sounds like we both heard two entirely different things.

surprised me too. i started conversation with our AD by asking when he would sign a contract with GCC and finalize our schedule and he proceded to tell me all the complications, neither wanting to travel, zanesville wanting too much money etc. he then told me about harrison central contacting him. one thing i know for sure is that linsly is definetly out of the picture. harrison central is a much larger school, div III i think, so that might play in the favor of our schools still getting together. i hate to be redundant but stay tuned.

From what I have heard, that is a bit premature, but the details are small and should get ironed out this week. I am 90% comfortable in saying to go ahead and add us to your schedule. See ya week 3!

You had better go 8-2!:D Do you have any other details on the game? Last I heard it was Sulsberger vs home for you guys, which made the date still questionable. There were some money issues too, but they were minor. I was just on the Times Leader site, but did not see the article. Do you have a link for it?

Unless they finalized something since Firday, I wouldn't celebrate too much yet. Hihgly likely? You bet. Done deal? No.

My hope things can still get worked out, but GCC needs a plan B just in case.
