Probably not. My boss has a post on it and links to a sight that says it is probably a jet flying toward the news chopper.

And the site he references

As someone who studies missiles, this makes sense and is probably the most likely scenario since 1. The Navy was not notified. 2. NORAD did not pick up anything. 3. Vandenburg AFB did not pickup any launches.

b/c the UFO themselves are inherently out of focus. Which makes them even scarier.

That's no airplane. Someone let a missile get loose from a boat or a sub - intentionally or otherwise.

The President was going to South Korea on Tuesday or Wednesday - suppose that was a little salute by those wacky North Koreans?

Well it wasn't from my ship, even tho we were up by that area and just pulled in today. I heard a few people say on my ship that they saw it. I don't know who would accidently set a missile off cause I'm sure that CO, XO, CMC and a shit ton of other people would be out of the Navy.

I've heard many people say it was an airplane and the way the light was hitting the contrail (sp?) it only looked like a missile. Others have said it was definitely launched from a sub. There's no way our intel doesn't know if it was an airplane or not.

The only reason I am not convinced it was a plane is because the airport towers would know that as fact and could come out and say a plane was right there at that exact point and to my knowledge that hasn't happened. No one seems to be coming forward with anything difinitive at all!

You wouldn't track a missile for 10 minutes. It would be across the country in that amount of time.

Sort of. Since the missile was perceived to be going away from LA, (which was wrong as the plane was apparently coming toward LA) one could follow the trail for a long time but the missile would disappear over the horizon after 10 or so minutes depending on its trajectory.

I also think it is hilarious that this story dominated most of the cable news yesterday and all the different theories were thrown out there with little basis for fact or possibility.

I find it hard to believe you could see a missile for 10 minutes.
