So a friend of mine invited me over to watch the OSU v. Wisconsin game on his new 52" flat screen. I was excited until I got there and found he didn't have the high def convertor so we watched the game in SD on his big screen.

That got me to thinking. What things are worth ponying up the extra cash for.

My partial list:

Aluminum foil/ plastic wrap
Round up weed killer
Batteries
Razor blades

Good thread.

Coke Zero vs. generic soda
Light bulbs (CFLs/LEDs save you a lot over a basic incandescent)
Suits (huge difference between bargain bin and middle-of-the-road in quality and fit)
Wine (again, big difference between $4 bottle and $15 bottle; not as much between $15 bottle and $200 bottle for most people)

Any household daily use item: i.e., paper towels, garbage bags, foil, zip lock bags, etc.

A hotel. A decent big chain hotel vs a local motel or bargain basement chain (looking at you Knights Inn) is usually worth it. Better sheets/mattress/shower/actually has breakfast.

Most electronics - I'll always spend a little more for a better tv, computer, etc.
Toilet paper - Self explanatory.
Razor blades - My face is my money maker, I can't risk slicing it up.
Tshirts - cheap tshirts suck.

Most electronics is right. Doesn't mean it has to be expensive but it's worth buying the quality.
