Regarding this game, I don't have any idea what the deal was with Massillon, but Mooney is open weeks 7 and 10. The week 1 opening just came about, and Mooney and McKinley (who both had teams ditch them) jumped at the opportunity to play each other.

Simple as that. Sorry, but it has nothing to do with picking 1 over the other. But 1 school stepped up. That's all I need to know.
