It does look like a pretty nice league . How far of a travel is Marrietta?

key returnees

Swinderman
Schneeberger
Alexander
Bennett
A. Little

Farmer
Clinker [if recovered]
Lehr [if recovered]
Sutterluety

Not a bad nucleus to build off of,Defense will be the biggest question mark losing Johnson,ShaloskyGable,Ryan as that guts the inside. past history says they will be fine.

Offense should be solid with Swinderman returning at Q.B. [3.822 YDS 35 T.D. 15 Interceptions]
line loses a lot but developed some depth with all the injuries in 2010 so 2011 will have some starters but won't be as big as 2010. A few freshmen from 2010 might get on the field to add depth,1 or 2 might start. The team could really use a reciever in the athletic mold of Matlick, tall with good speed

As for the season outlook,I think Dover should win a 5th straight title but Zanesville,at Zanesville will not be easy I would guess the league will go

Dover
Zanesville
Cambridge
New Phila
Marrietta

Coshocton will win the small school easily,Claymont 2nd the rest ?????

for red

Walt, are you attending the scrimmage today? If so, let us know how it goes.

i work in pickerington and I heard Dover was playing over at central at noon. So I went over expecting to see PC get a little bit tested by the wide open game. Now I know that PC is a D1 power ...but Dover had nothing for them. Pick did whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted on both sides of the ball. When i left in the second qtr, it was already 31-0. Later heard the final was 52-0. I have no dog in the hunt for either team...all i know is that it wasnt what I expected to see during my lunch period.

I thought Dover would get smacked around, but didn't think it would be as bad as you are saying. I wasn't there, so will take your word for it.

From everything I have read, and reading Coach Ifft's comments in the Times Reporter it sounds like Dover was just out manned by a wide margin. I wondered when I heard this scrimmage was going to take place why Pick Central would want to play this game. I wasn't sure what they were going to get out of it. For Dover, I'm sure it was a great learning experience against one of the top teams in the state of Ohio, probably even in the midwest. I'm sure it gave the Dover coaches plenty of ammunition for the next few weeks of practice.

I am not really concerned, Ifft uses the scrimmages as tools to teach and learn who has game Dover lost 10-0 to Canal Winchester in 09 and that season turned out to be pretty nice. As long as they can get/stay healthy Dover will be in the hunt.
