Guys, from my recollection he wasn't the most "stable" of posters on the old huddle, he sounded like a kid that had a good heart but wasn't that popular/successful in school, particularly with those of the female persuasion - didn't he start a thread that he was 'engaged' after meeting a girl after just a short period of time? Some people post things for therapeutic reasons, no need to pile on.

I respect everything JJ has ever done. He has never done anything to bother me. Because he created this site for all of us. If he changed the rules, he had to for his own good.
That may quite possibly be one of the funniest things I have ever read.

Dignity and self respect appear to be in short supply over there right now.

It did, but not before the admins and the mods got into it a little bit. It is very apparent that this was a poor decision by the folks that are in charge over there. I have no animosity towards them, but it just wasn't sound business practice.

The mods and admins were getting in to it with each other?

A little, AAF posted something about how this wasn't the mods actions and that it was Matt's/Eric's decision and Matt (I'm 95% sure, could have been Eric - as it has been deleted I can't confirm) responded that he didn't understand that post at all, that this was a decision that was above them, not their fault, etc.

It wasn't THAT heated, but it was evident that there isn't much leadership there.

I saw that as well....Matt or whoever was trying to cry "poor me" and that the whole pay thing wasn't his decision but from higher up and that he was just "trying to be a good employee" or something to that effect.

It was Eric or Matt not sure which one it was that stated how he wish he had that much power but didn't and that he was a "team player" and would tow the company line...

AAF responded with his version of "my bad"

SBulldog made one good point, the $12 isn't the big deal. I didn't decide to leave there because I couldn't afford the $12. It was the principle behind the thought. The admins/Mods over there thought their site was bigger than the people who populated their forums. They forgot what it was that made JJHuddle so great in the first place. It was real fans being able to share opinions. It was a great way to get news about and follow high school sports in the state of Ohio. There was a lot of great smack talk too. Somewhere along the line they lost sight of what the Huddle was about. Any message board needs to realize that people are there for the interaction (if that's the best word) that exists between posters, not because of the site itself.

Despite the fact that I qualify for a free premium membership (Got my .mil e-mail address), I see no reason to continue posting there. Their site is dying, and they know it.

Ever had to ice down your shoulder after pitching back to back games in slow pitch softball???
Someone has just started a thread entitled "sore shoulder" asking this question. The very idea of it makes me laugh, particularly that anyone would ever publicly admit to having done so.

He got kicked out of Bdubs for buying me a drink at the first Huddle gathering I ever went to, lol. I legitimately didn't know it was alcohol though so they let me stay.

I got the last word in on it, said that the other "worthless" site wasn't going down anytime soon, clearly referencing dbags post.

Yeah I mean I felt bad...he came from Toledo to Columbus and then had to leave. I felt worse for the guy who rode/drove with him because he was an innocent victim. But all in all...pretty hilarious.

Yes it does. I have to admit I started laughing the instant I read fab's post. It's like a class in learning how to fail at being smooth.

bigdaddy, have you noticed who isn't on here anymore? I'm not going to give out any names, but good riddance. More than half of them posted on here just to boost their own ego. The Huddle is better off without them. Because they did nothing to improve this site.

There are still posters here and some pretty good ones as well. They at least have some self-respect and not bite the hand that feed them. The Huddle is going to be better than ever, without the trash here anymore.

All those posters that started trouble and got themselves banned were ingrates. They supported the huddle for a long time. Then when JJ and the staff needed to change it up. They all refuse and call them communists. Why? For $12 a year? Is there really something to get all upset about? They act like they are demanding them $50 or $100. People need to get over themselves. They want everyone to be given to them free. When the second they are asked for a donation, its world war 3.

Their little "fake" huddle, won't last very long. They are going to have the same problems they have their, like the Huddle had. All of those posters won't get along and will cause more trouble. Why? Because they are no rules or guidelines over there. Have you seen the stuff they are posting over there?

I respect everything JJ has ever done. He has never done anything to bother me. Because he created this site for all of us. If he changed the rules, he had to for his own good.
First off, donate $12? Wrong, they were demanding it. After some people had already paid, they still wanted more? Plus, it was the fashion that they did it in. 3 days warning? Sorry Bulldog, you can keep JJ, we are happy here.

When exactly did they demand you guys start paying again?

They were very persistent in blocking my IP address, over, and over, and over again. So I couldn't even look at it the past month.

I'm still over on the site from time to time, but it's a shell of what it was. Pretty goofy stuff over there right now.

Hadn't you just turned 18 or 19 as well?

What a dumb situation that was all the way around...
"Here, have a Coke!"
"Hmm, this tastes a little funny."
"Sir, did you just give a drink to a minor?"
"Uhhh......"
