True, but in all fairness there was only 1:30 left in the 4th quarter when Wells (Pittman) broke the long TD run. It was a 7 point game late in the 4th. I wouldn't exactly call that a blowout.

or Maurice Wells or whoever it was in that revolving door of running backs we had that year....

Does it matter? We still won 34-20 and 610 yards of total offense later cost Rick Minter his job.

I would hardly say they had a revolving door. Pittman was a pretty good back.

Notre Dame had momentum when they were down 21-7? Really?

I feel like you should leave this forum and find one better suited for people who like to brag about things that most shouldn't brag about.

Enjoy that Hawaii bowl again this year, if you can even get into that one.

How about when they overturned Gonzo's obviosu fumble when it was 27-20.

Darby, the OSU game didn't cost Minter his job. Unless they decided to fire him a year later after the LSU game.

The 3 or 4 Big Ten teams that play Notre Dame every year used to get credit for scheduling a big nonconference game when they played Notre Dame. Now they don't. It would help the perception the Big Ten if Notre Dame became a national player again.

Bingo, that's the point I'm trying to make. It's 27-20 at that point and the momentum would have taken a huge swing in ND favor.

Right, because your offense was doing such a great job scoring against us.

LOL.

And I'm getting heat for posting nonsense? Go back and look at the video clip I posted. That overturned fumble occured with the score being 27-20 in OSU's favor. Had ND even just retianed posession after that play and not even scored on the fumble, the momentum would have swung in their favor. It's not that hard to understand but yet I should leave this forum...........LMAO!!!!!!!

You're too cute, Knute. Call me when you aren't a fucktard.
Scored enough to keep it with in a touchdown at that point and keep it a close game.

Fact: You're offense struggled a LOT until the end of the game.

Fact: You're pathetic defense led by Zibby couldn't stop our offense.

It doesn't matter.

Complain about the overturned call or whatever you want, but it was only 7 points, and you lost by 14.

You can argue hypothetical situations all you want, but when it comes down to it, you guys still lost the game.

The sooner you can stop living in January of 2006 the sooner you can get on page with the rest of the world in November of 2009.

^^^^^I'm not complaining at all, just making the point that game was far from being a blow out as many scarlet and grey blinded people think it was.

Yep, because you still lost by 14 points in a game that you were pretty much were never in, except for the beginning. Lol.

It would be ok with me. I still would root against them, but some of their ridiculous fans would then be justified at claiming their team is still considered a top program, because right now they aren't close like some Irish fans believe.

That game was never in doubt and I'd say I'm unbiased as you can be. OSU simply had better, faster players.

Yes because ND's last two td's didn't come on drives of 10 and 13 plays, while Ohio State didn't have a td of less than 56 yards...

260 of Ohio State's yards came on 4 plays... a reverse, a long ball when the cornerback slipped, a long run with the box packed knowing that a first down was just as bad as a 60 yard td, and another long pass

And? I don't see the point and how it relates to this thread.

are you sure he slipped, or did he just blow a tire trying to catch up to Teddy Ginn?

I think he's trying to account for 260 of those yards as being "fluky" in some say.... 610-260

Still a nice 350 yard clip there

I'm pretty sure the 2006 Fiesta Bowl has been re-hashed at least 250 times between this huddle and the other huddle. Every point that could be made and everything that could be said has already been put out there. I don't like talking about it for obvious reasons (part of bowl losing streak, I hate Ohio State, etc.) and I know that Buckeye fans love talking about it for their reasons (their last bowl win, many hate ND and love rubbing it in, repeating how many total yards they had, etc.). That being said, it was almost 4 years ago......maybe we should all move on now.
