sj, it's always good to hear about people who "give back"....sounds to me like you enjoy working with kids, and who knows--coaching may long be in your future...kudos, and good luck

Dane=OSU's best receiver...I'm not from Toledo but can say without hesitation that Dane is OSU's best receiver. He's the go to guy when it's crunch time. I admire the way he puts himself out there and makes the tough catch even when "he hears footsteps". Unfortunately, I can't say that about all of the receivers at OSU. Dane will be a major loss to this Buckeye team after this season.

I had a few friends in college who went to Central with him. They weren't big fans of him either.

Your guess is as good as mine. He's mum on the issue. Last I heard his spring went well and he was higher on the depth chart than he thought he would be. I think he's #3 on the chart.

If I ever win the lottery, rest assured I will be coaching somewhere. I was in the process of getting on Toledo's staff as a peon before I decided to leave Libbey and go to Ohio State. It'll be a few years before I know if I made the right decision, I think I enjoy coaching more than playing. I get on here to discuss the X's and O's I miss it so much (but it's typically slim pickings). haha

Coaching football < a degree from Ohio State. Gotta make choices...

Most kids who went through Catholic schools in Toledo know, or know of, each other. I trust their opinion, and my friends' opinions from Central.

Thats good to hear as long as he's not leaving receivers out to dry anymore like he used to do to me he will be alright haha... But seriously Hank was probably the best freshman qb we had it sucks they never really gave him a chance

That "I Heard" guy likes to talk a lot of smack, but has never accomplished a tiny fraction of what the people he talks about have done. He looks ridiculous, and should really just STFU.

Who is this directed at? I'm not sure if you are talking about me or not... but I've always supported my Buckeyes and it is no different with Sanzenbacher. However, I do know several people from the Toledo area and they all agree that Sanzenbacher was a pretty big jerk while they went to high school with him. One was a girl, and she had absolutely no reason to lie. I'm not saying what I said was gospel, just that it is something I have heard over and over again.

Nobody is belittling what Sanz has accomplished on the field. I was just saying what I've heard from people who went to Central with him. I'm not sure why everyone is getting emotional about this? If you think a few kids saying Sanzenbacher may have been kind of a douche in high school is the worst thing in the world, you don't even want to know some of the stories going around about Terrelle Pryor's antics at OSU.

I find it funny that queencity is acting like Sanzenbacher's accomplishments on the football field are important to society. Is it fun to watch, yeah? But at the end of the day is it really all that important? What if I told you I was a doctor? Still think Sanzenbacher's 3rd down conversions are more meaningful to society?

Where the hell are you getting this "important to society" garbage? I said nothing that approaches anything related to that. All I'm saying is it's far easier for those who have accomplished nothing in their lives (and if you're being honest, that's you at this point) to attempt to make others smaller rather than to actually do something.

1. I was responding to how you said that I (or anybody else for that matter) hadn't accomplished a tiny fraction of what Sanzenbacher had. To which I maintain is ridiculous because at this point in Sanzenbacher's life he really has only played football at Ohio State and has done little else that "society" would feel is important/meaningful. It's a joke that Sanzenbacher is automatically a better person and has accomplished more just because he is D-1 athlete. There is a lot more to life than converting 3rd downs against Minnesota and Indiana

2. I don't understand why you are so offended by all of this. Odds are Sanzenbacher does not read Ohio Chatter, nor does anybody in his family. Those are the people who might get upset with my post that "attempted to make him smaller".

3. This is a message board. Stop taking life so seriously

4. If Sanzenbacher does read this message board and doesn't like what he sees, he should not have been a douche to my friends from college.

jordo--for the record, I can personally say that your point #2 is false, and even though I have no idea who your so-called friends are, I'll bet that if Dane came up to them and said "hey", they'd be slapping high fives saying "we went to school with him" !!!
this post was meant to shed a positive light on Sanzenbacher's achievements on the gridiron--sorry to see it got out of hand :(

Toledo has more D-1 talent than I can remember in ages. Both football and basketball.

Football most have been mentioned but in basketball you have Nigel Hayes who will be a big time prospect from Whitmer and Marc Loving (OSU Commit) and Chetham Norrils of SJJ. Norrils will more than likely opt to play football though.

Loving and Hayes are both going to be really big time recruits, top 50.

Funny story, I coached against Marc Loving when he was a 7th grader playing on the 8th grade team at Emmanuel Christian (or Baptist, whatever it was back then). We lost 39-37. Loving had 37 of their 39 points. What a freaking beast. Kid almost went to Maumee Valley because his mentor is Lionel Armstead who was coaching at MVCD in some capacity. But when MVCD brought on the new regime, Loving opted for SJJ.

Best dressed coaches in the TAAC, no doubt! God I fuckin' hated Boehm--has he run that school into the ground yet?
