Melo is overrated. Either that, or the Nuggets severely underachieved while he was there. I personally believe it's the former, and always have.

The Nuggets have been jack shit every year outside of 2008-2009. Besides that single run to the conference finals, the Nuggets went 6-24 in the playoffs between 2004 and 2010, losing in the first round all 6 times. With guys like Billups, Andre Miller, Nene, Camby, K-Mart, JR Smith, and Iverson on the roster at various times (at least 3 of those guys on the team at all times)? Pathetic.

I don't see the Knicks ever competing for a title unless they get Chris Paul and at least a few other key pieces. Melo and Amare aren't even going to be close to enough.

Melos overrated? Hmm are you one of those people on here that thought he was like not even in the top 10-15 players in the NBA overrated, or you sayin hes maybe just not AS good as people make him sound?

And lol I'm sure one of the things youll bring up is that he "plays no D". Always love when people said that, because damn near nobody in the NBA plays D until the last few seconds of the shot clock or game. And in the playoffs, thats about it

HB31187, I thought you were a Nuggets fan? Or are you just a Carmelo fan the same way as that one "Cavs" fan who was just a LeBron fan. I'm just asking to clarify.

Reason I ask is it seems more like the opposite. You're vehemently defending the Knicks/Melo while ignoring what Denver has done for the most part. If I were a Denver fan I'd be happy with what's currently happening... Knicks struggling while the Nuggets are making the best of it... that's what you want out of a trade.

I would say he's a borderline top 10 player.

He isn't a superstar though, and I was one of the people who said I would take D-Will over him.

Any NBA team that gives up 96 ppg or less during an entire season ( 10 teams currently) definitely plays defense more than just the last few seconds of the shot clock or game.
And i agree with the poster that thinks you have been sounding like more of a Melo fan than a Nugget fan lately...and I do not understand why.

I can agree with this, I like Melo but he is what he is, a scorer. He is an average to below average defender, a pretty good rebounder but he doesn't make people around him better by getting them involved and play making, that to me is what defines a great player. He doesn't seem to be much of a leader either on the court, nor does Amare.

I am happy with what Denver has done, im just skeptical they do anything in the playoffs because this team chokes when it counts usually. Its easier to just not get my hopes up lol. I do hope that they succeed and make a little run in the post season, but for the most part this team has good regular season and folds under pressure. Maybe that will change post Melo/Billups era

And Skyhook...I am still a huge Melo fan, hes my favorite player int he NBA probably. He left my team sure...but he did it the right way and we got a hell of a lot of pieces for him. He didnt just bail out last second on national TV so im not exactly anti Melo like Cavs are Anti lebron. And im sounding more like im backin up the Knicks because thats all thats really talked about otu of the 2 teams. The Nuggets are very rarely mentioned on this thread unless its about the trade(understandably since im probably the only nuggets fan here)

Shannon Brown had a dunk tonight that was absolutely stupid. Went off one foot with the right hand, switched to the left, threw down a windmill.

+1.

He needs to train whereever Aaron Gray works out this summer to work on his explosiveness. Otherwise he may be shipped overseas.

I would agree, not a superstar and I have a very hard time putting a player that only plays one side of the ball in the top 10. As for the draft, I was not on the DWade train, I thought he would be good, didnt think he'd be as good as he is now.

No, but he seems to think everyone who likes a team good or bad from a different state is a bandwagoner.
