VANLUE — Arlington’s Cam Brown capped off a sensational season and career with a memorable game as the Red Devils defeated Vanlue 62-8 in a Blanchard Valley Conference contest and completed their seventh straight winning season.
Brown, who finished with 1,659 yards this season and 3,005 in his career, may have broken the Arlington (6-4, 6-3 BVC) single-season and career rushing records, but the official historical marks could not be confirmed.
Brown ran the ball 25 times for 274 yards and five touchdowns, scoring on of 1, 5, 8, 40 and 13 yards.
Tyson Spence had a solid evening with 54 yards rushing and touchdowns of 2 and 1 yards. Aaron Cheney, who was 2 of 2 passing for 84 yards, threw a 52-yard scoring strike to John Inniger to open the scoring. Zac Metzger added a 10-yard touchdown for the Red Devils, who rushed for 417 yards.
Inniger, Cheney and Spence each had interceptions defensively for Arlington.
Jon Kloepfer got Vanlue (2-8, 1-8) on the scoreboard with a 43-yard scamper. Dillon Kliesch threw for 119 yards for the Wildcats.
