Is this 8-man, full-contact on the line? What are the rules? I coached powderpuff, and I believe I still have a playbook around that I can send.

My general thoughts:

(1) Most teams will have one or two athletes and a bunch of scrubs, so you want an offense that puts the ball in the hands of your playmakers. Usually, you can stick 'em at QB and run a combination of the zone read/zone triple/crazy option with a handful of simple pass plays thrown in.

(2) Girls don't respond well to misdirection. This means that any sort of rocket/speed/jet sweep action with backside waggle action is gold. Run the speed sweep the frontside a time or two, then come back with the waggle for the TD.

(3) You want to have a "system," not a collection of plays. Each play should build off another--i.e., if you run the zone read, then run the zone triple, then run some playaction off it, then run something with counter action going back.

(4) You can't have anything too complicated. But the defense will be in basic man/press or cover 2 zone 99% of the time. Don't worry about other coverages--focus on what you'll see. If you can include motions/formations that are easy to call and yet confusing for the defense, you can exploit mismatches. Just keep the play simple, and then use formationing/motions to get the match-ups you want.

this is 7 WOman, contact on the line...basically 3 ol 1 qb, 2 rb, 1 wr, and on d 3 dl, 2 lb, 1 safety 1 corner....i agree the misdirection plays work the best...an old playbook would be nice...:D

Our playbooks were for 8, so I'm not sure how useful they'd be. One trick you can use is rather than have 2 rb, just have 1. Put the QB in a short gun (i.e. the pistol) and put the back right behind her. This gives you the option to go to either side. Put the other rb out as a wr. You can take someone with no talent, stick them at wr, and it forces the D to put someone out there to cover her.

If you have a fast rb, put her out as a slot, off the line, and motion her to the backfield either with rocket (back to the depth of the tb) or jet (right in front of the QB) motion. You want her to be in close to a full sprint in motion so the D doesn't have time to react. You can hand it off to her (spin action on rocket, typical spread handoff in jet) and then have QB/TB go backside. We would run the speed option off this to the backside (because the D would ALWAYS overreact to the motion and shift the safety to the jet side). You can also run the crazy/shovel option to the first person to show up.

Basically, we looked for ways to get our fastest players (QB and slot) into space where it was a footrace with a slower LB.

EDIT: Quick example diagrammed below. If you run the jet sweep a time or two, the S/B will bite hard when they see the motion. This opens up (1) backside option off it, where you option first to show, and (2) play-action, with WR running a post. If S comes up to fill, the post is open. If not, the wheel should be open.

You could always check out some of the games from the Lingerie Football League. It's 7-on-7 girls football (in lingerie!).

I actually went to college with Liz Gorman of the Tampa Breeze who also happened to be the LFL Defensive POY last season.

Another option off that same base look is instead of the jet motion, motion the TB out of the backfield. Most powderpuff teams will overcompensate and slide both safety and remaining backer toward the TB side. Throw a pass or two out of this, but then run a QB draw. If they're in (wo)man coverage, the corner will go with the receiver, who clears out by running a post or dig. With safety/backer over-adjusted, this leaves an entire side of the field open for the QB to run. Hesitate a second or two, then take off--as long as the end isn't getting upfield, it's wide open spaces.

No prob. Do most teams run (wo)man-free coverage? Or are they c2 zone? In guys 7-on-7, most teams ran c2 zone, but most of the girls teams we saw played (wo)man coverage.

Depending on coverage and fronts, you can do a lot to screw up coverages and get someone open. But at the end of the day, you want your 1 or 2 best players touching the ball 95% of the time, so it's more a question of finding favorable match-ups for them by using everyone else as decoys.

Wow FFT...that was alot of complex BS when all we really wanted to hear was how you hosed 'em all down before games for wet T-shirts.

My bad. I forgot the golden rule--there will be no substantive sports discussion on the OC. This is for serious business only!

(And if you saw the girls at my undergrad . . . you'd focus more on the Xs and Os and less on them. Engineering schools aren't really a hotbed for beauty. Unless you like nerdy Asians who play the violin.)

And if you opponents have read FFT's analysis on how to score let me help you out on the other side of the ball.......

Blitz your lb's off the edge, walk a safety into te box after the qb gets her read and thinks it is a zone, stack a backer inside and have her twist with a d lineman, don't have your db follow the motion...everyone stays home and fills lane. Fuck, forget all this just spike their water cooler with some Everclear and let the fun begin

I doubt your opponent will throw the ball.
