It was a crushing that should have never happen!!! We had the players at the beginning of the season to compete with with anyone in my opinion!!!!
OK i just called and we will see if i get a call back this time lol.
You can email Mr. Soroka at the high school. His email address is on the CMHS website. I believe he is still in charge of the media department.
As far as the stadium goes i agree with you!! I have yet seen a stadium that has Numbers of players and retired Numbers. But yet you go to steubenville Harding stadium they have all there accomplishments all over the place and when you leave that stadium you would be shocked. I was at the stadium a few weeks back when they had the 3 games played on a Saturday. It was ridiculous. they fill that stadium every week. and there sometimes sold out. Im gonna talk to Lets_Go_Devils about what could be done about that. Me and Him go way back to being toddlers playing at his moms! But we shall see. he is a great supporter of the team!!!
You can email Mr. Soroka at the high school. His email address is within the faculty section on the high school website. I believe he may still be in charge of the media department. There are two or three games on each dvd. And just because these are dvds does not mean that they in high definition or professionally restored to movie theater quality. These are simply dvdrs made from the coaches videotapes. There are games from '85 and '86 that do not have sound. There are no huddles between plays, time outs, or halftime. So each game can be watched in around 40 minutes or so. I know some games from the past were shown on Campbell channel 19 over the past couple of years. In the meantime I am going to see if I can burn dvds on my computer.
That 1994 team had some players with quite a bit of potential. They were highly regarded in the preseason. I watched many practices during that season during the summer. Altough the offensive line was big, I would say only two of the linemen were good. I believe there were two sophomores and one freshman who were being heavily counted on. They beat a very weak Allegheny Academy team in week one. Then when week two came around, Chaney came to town. Chaney had a solid hard-nosed team and they beat our asses. It was a very even game until one of the "stars" decided to mouth off following a play during a Campbell drive deep into Chaney territory. We were penalized 15 yards, the drive stalled, and it was all downhill from there. One of the running backs was so selfish during that game that he quit on his teammates and coaches DURING THE GAME. He walked off the field and into the locker room, followed by his father. That particular escapade and the loss to Chaney started all of the turmoil that plagued that team the rest of the season. I believe two of our so-called stars were "injured" for the game against Big Red. One of the players refused to get onto the bus to Orrville later that season which caused a big mess in the locker room. I believe Coach Soroka was down to 24 or so players by the end of the season. Basically, those kids believed all of the preseason hype about themselves, forgetting what a tough schedule was ahead of them. It was the first season Campbell was an independent. And the schedule was stacked with some very good teams. At least two of the players on that squad had D-1 college talent. But from my perspective they were not coachable. I am not going to mention any names.
Coach Bayuk, Coach Sikora and the staff have done a great job with our kids. We've got a bunch of really good kids playing for Campbell these days. We should be very thankful to be blessed with such good men. Coach Bayuk got things turned around. Coach Sikora is seeing things coming to fruition. GO DEVILS !!!!!!!!!!!
