Ohio State is going to a BCS bowl game, there's no doubt about it.

I wouldn't bet against Ohio State being in a BCS bowl this year, or ever, but the game in Iowa will be tough and Michigan isn't a given. Hell, even Penn State played tough today. You can't use the "toughest conference" card and "no doubt about it" and want people to think you have a fucking clue.

Despite Iowa playing a down game against Indiana I doubt the Buckeyes will hold up against the Hawkeyes at Iowa.

With 2 conference losses the Buckeyes will play either in the Capital One or Outback bowls...probably the Outback Bowl against Florida or South Carolina.

IMO the Buckeyes got their annual "wake up" call against Wisky--look for them to beat Iowa by at least two scores (after they take care of PSU on Saturday). And as far as playing a "down game"? I actually watched the entire game (my bro-in-law is an Iowa alum), and Indiana simply outplayed Iowa in every facet of the game, and should have beat them there at the end. Ohio State will not lose another game the rest of the regular season--mark it down.

Oh I hope you're right, but the Buckeyes will probably see a different Iowa team when they face the Hawkeyes than the one who got out statistic-ed in every area but the one that really counts by Indiana. The good teams find ways to win.

I never have confidence in Tress & Co. in games that matter.

and I know Iowa fans say the same thing about Ferentz...I just hope it's a great football game with OSU coming out on top

I was listening to 97.1 the Fan today while driving to a friend's house for dinner. The guys were actually going over a scenario where Boise State gets left out of the BCS Bowl picture despite being undefeated. It was something like this:

NC Oregon v. Auburn
Orange: VT v. Pitt
Sugar: LSU v. OSU
Rose: Wisconsin v. TCU
Fiesta: Stanford v. Nebraska

Boise's consolation prize would be either the Kraft Hunger Bowl or the possibly the New Mexico Bowl. That's a huge drop off in both money and prestige for a team that has gone undefeated.

That would be a damn shame.....but I wouldn't be surprised.

If LSU wins out, you can count on them being in the Sugar Bowl.

So only Michigan games matter?

Rose Bowl
Wisconsin vs Oregon

Fiesta Bowl
Stanford vs Boise State

Orange Bowl
Pitt vs VT

Sugar Bowl
LSU vs Michigan State

While I understand the conference tie-in on the bowl games, a Pitt vs. VT Orange Bowl will only serve to prove once again what a sham the BCS system is. If Boise goes undefeated and doesn't get a BCS bowl invitation it would be bullshit of the highest quality.

It does for some Buckeye fans. Each year the Buckeyes play at least one nationally televised game against a Wisconsin or Michigan State or Iowa or USC or Texas or Illinois or Penn State and typically find a way to prove the point of the national OSU haters.

Apparently those games don't matter.

A once beaten Stanford team will not get in over a once beaten OSU team.

And if Wisky is your B10 AQ, then OSU will get in over MSU.

Stanford won't be picked at large. They bring no money or viewers. If Ohio State or Oklahoma are available, they would be picked over Boise State due to the money. I don't see them being available though (Oklahoma won't finish in the top 14, Ohio State won't be eligible because the Big Ten will already have 2 teams in). They will take Boise State over teams like Stanford or Missouri because those teams won't bring in that much more money than Boise, and it will save them the trouble of another Congressional hearing about the BCS.

So you think OSU will lose to Iowa? Or that the BCS will take MSU over the Bucks??

Has the Big XII been removed from the BCS? Their champion has to play in a BCS Bowl.
