Surely this can't be seen as me wanting every Orrville player to suffer career ending Injuries
I didn't take it that way. Hit em hard but clean and then shake hands when it's over.

Hits a little close to home for me. Don't get me started on supporting local hardware stores.

Here's a secret to any small business wanting to increase foot traffic in their store.....announce you're closing. They come out of the woodwork.

I agree RR1. Makes you wonder if all those people shopping at a going out of business sale had shopped there all along the store probably wouldn't be closing. I guess that is the vulture like nature.of our society.

Anyway back on topic....does having an extra day before the game help or hinder the teams? Having an extra day to prepare does that offset getting the players out of their weekly routine?

I was in Cleveland one afternoon for a game, went to dinner afterwords and actually seen a store that's name was "Going out of Business"...

Ringz,
It will be different in that the "flow" of the day will be off...but it will be for both teams...so probably have a net zero effect.

Here's some interesting reading for BRF and any other history buff. I added the Wooster/Orrville rivalry to Wikipedia's page of longest running high school football rivalries.

http://bit.ly/cTYmCz

It's sorted by date of first game, so scroll down to 1903. 6th longest running rivalry in the state by that list.

...and to mess with the routine a little more...Orrville does not have school Friday due to Parent/Teacher conferences during the week. Not sure if its the same for Wooster, but I think an extra day of practice, no school on Friday and then play Saturday evening could be a small distraction...and then simply throw in all they hype of this game, the Turner factor, the winning streak and playoff implications.......WOW, very easy for a 16 -18 year old to get sidetracked!

It was probably a bunch of Orrville kids painting the bridge in an attempt to get the Riders fired up. If some of the words are spelled incorrectly my theory is correct.

There were no words, all wimpy light blue, so it probably was woo kids that forgot they needed two colors to make a picture :)

Not my middle initial......I'm clear.

Wouldn't waste my time painting the bridge...plus I'd fall in the road and be hit by an oncoming car.....just my luck.

So let's talk the game.....Wooster's only 2 loses are to CF and ASH. Orrville lost to both and also Copley by 1 in double OT.

Wooster lost to Ashland by 14....so did Orrville
Wooster lost to Clear Fork by 35...Orrville by 33....but at least Wooster scored.

By the numbers only....these are 2 very similar teams.

Offensive PPG
Wooster - 32.78
Orrville - 27.56

Defensive PPG
Wooster - 21.33
Orrville - 22

Wow. Talk about mirror images. This game is going to be a barn-burner.

Wooster needs to come out and set the tone early. Score some points on the first couple of possessions and make Orrville play catch up.

We love playing from behind...have done it in EACH AND EVERY SINGLE GAME this season.

Trailed Triway and West Holmes 6-0 before waking up. Trailed Madison and Senior 14-0 before halftime.

About the only game we led early on was the Northwest game (led 10-0 after 1 qtr)

Just another day at the park if we trail early.

Devonta, did not practice today he was walking around in a neck brace. His status for Saturday unknown. What little I did overhear without prying was a compression fracture of a disc.

This injury sits clearly on top of McCreary's head and I hope he was man enough to take responsibility for it to the young mans parents.
