OK, the teacher salary thread got me thinking. In the chatterererer's eyes, what is their value of the public services we receive? What do you feel is the most important, and should be paid the most? Who is underpaid, overpaid, etc.?

Here is a list of SOME that I can think of, that would fall under the category of public service employees. Please feel free to add to the list, but please rank in your order of importance to society.

In no order (yet)
Teachers
Police Dept.
Fire Dept.
City workers (street, water, etc.)
Govt. heads (Mayor, Governor, Pres, etc.)
Congress (Reps and Senators... both state and natl.)
Librarians
Social workers
Parks dept.

IMO 3-8 are interchangeable

Does the title of "Community Organizer" fall under Govt Heads or Social Workers? Whichever it does that one is dead last.
