the RB that went to Arizona? If so, and if they traded them straight up, that is a terrible move by the Browns.
Not because they dont need another Rb, but because Harrison is the better of the two IMO

Bell is a running back.
I know that Hillis is banged up but seriously? There wasn't a wide receiver we could snag from somebody?

Never heard of Mike Bell, yet you claim you're a fan of the NFL? He's a back-up RB who averages about 4 YPC in his career. Had some good seasons with the Broncos and a nice season for the SUPER BOWL champs last year.

I will never understand how the Browns handled Harrison. I would not be surprised to see him go and be productive in Philly.

I'm sorry, but how is this terrible? Jerome wasn't very good. He spazzed out at the end of last season, he can't live off that forever. Especially when he goes down every time a finger is laid on him.

And what has Bell done in his career? he has like 1300 yards (just like harrison) only for 4 different teams. At best you trade one RB for one of the same caliber and same age...so it makes no sense really

Well Well Well. After a little research, what do I find? Mike Bell was the tard rb in the Super Bowl that put on the wrong set of shoes and fell down at the 1yd line. The Saints coach ripped him a new one on the sideline. hahahaaaaa Nice pickup Walrus. LMFAO!!!

But he's a fan of a WINNING organization! THEY HAVE MORE "KNOWLEDGE!!!!!"
I just had a Steeler fan tell me the Browns have never "one" a Super Bowl...smh
As far as Harrison for Bell? Traded one expiring contract for another. Both will be FA's after the season, I believe. Word is that Harrison wasn't getting in games as of late because he "quit" on the team.

The Ghost was perpetually in the dog house in Cleveland. He has big play ability, which is why he is not a fit for Mangini's system as athleticism and speed are disqualifiers to him rather than requsites.
Mike Bell was the plodding bruiser for the Saints last year to compliment Bush's more flashy gamebreaking style.
It makes perfect sense in Mangini's world that we would trade a change of pace back like Harrison for another bruising plodder like Bell. When we already have one of those in Hillis, doesn't it make sense to double the fun with another one in Bell.
Just like at Receiver, last year we traded the only game breaker we had in Braylon and made sure not to replace him with anyone that had a similar sort of athletic ability.
When you have an offensive coordinator with the creativity of a gnat, it makes all the sense in the world to strip your offense of any potential game breakers because it is not like he will use them anyway.

Or we traded a player that quit on the team....
Because we all know that never happens in sports with talented players

I know many want to give Holmgren the benefit of the doubt, but I'm really starting to wonder. First Delhomme, then drafting McCoy and now this?

I doubt Mangini was behind this trade.

BTW, I don't think this is a "bad" trade, it just doesn't make any sense.

How is this on Holmgren? Heckert is calling the shots on these deals.

Everything is on Holmgren, don't be so naive. You don't pay a guy what you are paying Holmgren to not make the decisions. And even if it is on Heckert, Holmgren hired him and is his boss.

You have a player (Harrison) in which the team has no faith in who is going to be a FA at the end of the year. He likely wasn't in their future plans to begin with.
If they were SO high on him after his 500+ yards in the last 4 games, why in the blue Hell did they go out & draft Hardesty? Nothing says "vote of confidence" to me like using a 2nd rounder on a RB when you have a RB coming off a strong finish in the season prior.

What an odd deal. Harrison should thrive as McCoys backup in Philly though.

See my comment right above this one. It might make sense. Harrison wasn't in their future plans.

What I get out of it, is that Harrison wasn't happy backing up Hillis. If he was becoming a cancer, he had to go.
