Little local action last night. Really lopsided. Couple wins for northwestern. Kurt/Gage was a snoozer. Kurt would have dominated big time but was real tentative. Think it ended up 4-0?!?! Or 2. Kind of fell asleep. Haha. Just kidding. watching it made me think gage isn't going to fare well at districts. Didn't know if it was the hand injury but he seemed content with to hold on for close match point wise. Ref could have rang up a stalling or two more I'm sure. Cantnzarite match was fun to watch. Lots of things and body parts in places where they shouldn't be. Other than that not much else to talk about wcal wise.

Sure did seem like the Huskies are firing on all cylinders. What did they lose 4 matches?

What's up with Orrville's 103 not listening to his coach during his match with Young? Was told to kick, and just ignored him. Felt bad for Hamsher. I'm sure he's thinking this is one of my best guys, can't run him off. Really puts him in a tough spot. I have a ton of respect for Mike & I hate seeing disrespect.

Even though two particular wrestlers won't be on the mats in eastern Ashland County, you have to believe Coach Stanley has two contender type wrestlers as back ups who are hungry to get out there and prove something. Louie has a plan, and his plan does not include conceding two weight classes because his #1's can't go.

I saw a pretty girl. Approached her with a plan and got shot down. Just because you have a plan doesn't mean it will work. Look @ my bud Frank the Tank. I'm sure he has a plan. (Ultra deep voice) Hey. I sell fireworks and enjoy very small vehicles. (Ultra ditsy voice) Umm, like, alright. Don't you have some weights to stare at?

Comparing your lack of skills with the fairer sex has nothing to do with a successful coach and a winning tradition.

But keep your head up, maybe someday you will get to spend some time with that pretty girl. TPO's have a shelf life.

A text just received from head coach,"How are you holding up? The twins are doing well at school. They're attitude and effort in practice is amazing." Response from me back. "The twins are caged not broken." We will see you all at County.

AGREED!!!!! Have had ALL year to take the test.

Not only does it burn a whole day....but The wrestlers making weight do not get to wake-up and weigh in....they have to wait until....??? To make weight and recover.

In part you can thank the ohsaa. They made the no exception rule this year of academics before athletics. I don't blame the wcal for this. They want all to be able to participate and take the act... Some kids aren't ready to take it till winter spring time...

Prime time baby! Finals @ 6pm=more people. Some people work, have lives. Great attractions don't go down @ 9am. This is the freakin' WCAL tournament not the Cat Classic. I hate the mentality that many wrestling people have of "get in, get done, get out." Feature the sport. Celebrate the kids. Make a big deal about the accomplishment. This league has a rich wrestling history. Have some respect bro!

My main point is putting in a short day and getting ALOT of work done... ;) No asterik needed. i just would like to see the kids weigh in sooner, but hey...perhaps it benefits us in the long run. Kids sucking alot of weight having to "weight"(pun intented) longer to beat the scales. We dont have a weight cutting issue really in Bear Country as, Harter is a cutter, but most just wrestles their 'Natural' weight. ;)

EDIT: Also...."some people have lives"...its mid february at Waynedale, wrestling IS our LIFE.

Looks to be a battle between Northwestern, Chippewa and Norwayne. Bears may have their lowest finish in WCAL HISTORY!!! :(

Here are a few articles in the local newspaper, The Daily Record, they do an excellant job covering area wrestling!!! These 2 articles are good indicators on how/why the WCAL will play out.

http://www.the-daily-record.com/news/article/4978813~~~WCAL Balanced??? !!! Perhaps most equal ever.

http://www.the-daily-record.com/news/article/4978853~~~ OHSAA Mums the word!

Mr Miyagi doesn't agree beast. Quit sand baggin Mr Miyagi. The defending champs are always the team to beat, and this years defending champs are the yella bears. Hopefully with a good day and some lucky seeding , my huskies can break the top 4. A lot of strategy on what weight a lot of wrestlers will be at. With a little luck " the strive to stop five" will be a success,. We wouldnt want to share our record of five in a row with you guys anyways.
Beast ... tell the truth......you don't like the 6 pm finals start time because you are worried about missing a BASKETBALL game !!!! :D

You cannot argue with The Daily Record....Huskies jumped the Bears in rankings, they are the team to beat, no lie. We would like to tie your 5 in a row, more importantly, we would like to add to the Bears 19-15 lead in WCAL titles....20-15 would look so much better. I just dont see it happening. Too young, not deep enough. Myagi...find Beast and introduce yourself...perhaps i will offer you a piece of Yellow Jello in exchange for an eggroll.

Thanks. The Smithies were tough. I know there's been some problems in the lower weights. Is there anyone else? Has this 119 wrestled my top 3?
