Who: Anyone willing to travel to our wrestling facility for four nights, as well as pay the $35 registration fee.
What: 2nd annual pre-season BE BETTER Wrestling Camp
When: November 1st through November 4th, 4pm to 7pm.
Where: Groveport Madison Middle School North, in the GM Wrestling Facility (same place as open mats)
Why: Seriously!?
***Order forms MUST be sent by OCOBER 22nd in order to receive a camp t-shirt (which, by the way, will be sweet!).
I have a two-sided, tri-fold flier ready to be sent out. Just email me if you'd like one. [email protected]
Our hope is that this camp will expose you or your wrestler to the basic rules of the sport, develop fundamental skills for the sport and help to build a strong foundation using a systematic approach. Hopefully all three components will help add confidence to you or your wrestler's ability.
Thanks a million, and again, just email... [email protected]

Awesome, zam!
For the two who have emailed and anybody else that might be interested... When I say "systematic" what I mean is, we will emphasize a solid stance (using it as an offensive weapon and defensive tool) and then progress into working into or out of a tie-up, all in order to set-up a double leg attack. Then we will progress, using that same footwork, to a head outside single leg. Then we'll use those two shots to set up our snap down to a front headlock. After that we'll go into a head inside single leg.
We really do stick to the basics. No camp moves, no big-time 5-point throws, and absolutely NO DODGE BALL!!!
For top and bottom, the basic principle is score. TOP: Breakdowns to half nelsons, cradles and ball'n'chain series. BOTTOM: Typical escapes (stand up or short sit to hip heist) and reversals (switch and granby). And then we'll try to synthezise the two.
It really does benefit all. If you're just starting out, these are the tools that most state caliber guys win with. If you are the upper echelon, you have to actively persure being better - and how does that happen??? By practicing the basics!!!
Anywho. I hope this answers any question that those who had planned on asking me via email like two others have. Maybe it fits for your wrestler...maybe it doesn't. Either way, see you soon...

Gardens35: It will be difficult. However, knowing that you are astute in all things, and the fact that I like you, I'll say give it a try!

Glad to see you won't be teaching any 5 points throws, that's what Russians teach their kids but they do it for Free and that is communism! A camp for only $35 there is no way you could include high level technique that works at the world and Olympic level for only $35! That my friend would have at least made you a socialist. When I saw the Bulgarian olympian who, Thee Ohio ST. hired show a throw at Steelewood, I knew he did for all the right reasons...cold hard cash. Kudos to you and your camp for helping kids and promoting capitalism.
and remember....IF YOU CAN DODGE A WRENCH, YOU CAN DODGE A DOUBLE!
On a serious note, Cruiser96 is a great coach and I am sure all who attend will get a lot of great instruction for a great price!!!!

You, sir, just made me laugh. You know my thoughts on 5-point throws. They are as effective for progress as communism! I'll bet you can't tell me the last kid to hit one at the state tournament! Wait... scratch that. I just thought of two and neither had to do with Nick Cienciollo (sp)!!!
On a serious note... There are EASILY 100 things that can be taught at a camp. We chose to go broad brush stroke. My arm was twisted to show legs!!! And that is a HUGE part of top wrestling.
On the silver lining view, and recognizing your love for the free-market side of things, Lou Demas will be hosting an "All You Can Throw" Camp sometime shortly after the 2012 presidential elections or after the end of the world come December 21st, 2012. Have fun!!!
ps: Any chance you'll be at St. John Arena, oh, I don't know, perhaps on Oct. 21st and/or 22nd???

It's Algore. And usually it's given italicized!
Over the summer, this woman whom I married...we'll call her the greatest woman ever, as to conceal her identity...got me hooked on Angus filets. The way she prepares them, ooooooooooooooh!!!
One night I washed it down with a tasty bowl of Dip'N'Dots, tucked in with the 1991 Brakeman Edition (in it's entirety) and dozed off to dream a little dream.
Concerning the '91 Brakeman:
DI
103: Jonson, Wineberg, Colucci, a Contos AND a Conyers!?!?!?! Awesome!
130: #5... he he he...
DII
Marion Franklin and Solon were in this division back then.
119: Noble (Lebenon) has been around FOREVER!!! He wrestled THIS year at the District tournament!!!
DIII
The Dernlans are sweet.
How 'bout dem Silver Knights!?!?!?!
Wierd that Brakeman doesn't mention Dip'N'Dots. An oversight, I'm sure.

Cruiser...Do I need to fill out a registration if I plan on just coming up to work out that week?
Did you curl up with the '91 Brakeman AND a lobster bisque? If so, that's a quality evening.

No need for a registration for you, my fine feathered friend. Just try to be at open mats on the 19th and/or even the 26th. We can talk about it then. Again, no guarantees that you'll be given a block on instruction time (see RussianTie for example) however, your presence would be greatly appreciated. If nothing else, for rasslin' talk! The season IS approaching, ya know!?!?!
Anywho, I'll be up there this Tuesday. See you then.
Oh, and I only mentioned the bisque out of fear of mentioning the "desert" I enjoyed!!! Wink, wink! I'll spare the details.

Oh, it's picking up now! We have a number of non-Cruisers registering, so if you have been wondering if this was just going to be a glorified Cruiser practice... we'll I suppose you'd be correct, however, more people will be there than JUST Cruisers.

Tomorrow is a big day as I will be heading to the junior high building to pick up their registrations. So far, we have 4.5 schools represented. I say .5 because I'm unsure of where one individual hails from. Perhaps I'll bump it to 5 and call it, "Parts Unknown"!!!

If the Hall comes through with half of what was stated, we'll top 50. Should have some beginners, middle of the road and maybe some 2011 state hopefuls present. Excellent mix.
Also, do NOT be afraid to show up on Nov. 1st with a registration and $35. We'll take you in if you are willing to BE BETTER!!!!!!

Still waiting on a final count from the Hall, but we are at 46 right now. Shirts have been ordered, however, if you'd still like to show up in order to Be BETTER!, you may. Monday, Nov. 1st, try to be there around 3:40pm.

I'll be there at around 4:15. I spoke to a bunch of wrestlers at Whitehall's open mat last night. There should be a pretty big group headed your way today.
