Eagles trying to get a first down to ice the game

he's running within a few yards of the first down and slides down on his own?

49ers getting the ball back

that was fishy

Dude's playing with a broken rib, he's been doing that all game. They just point it out now taht it's this situation. Of course, he should've gone for the 1st down, but it's nothing different than what he's been doing all game.

He was pretty pissed. He clearly didnt know he was so close. With cracked ribs and a fumble the last possession, Im sure we was trying to avoid the hit. He was running out of bounds all day to keep the ribs from getting hit. If he realized he was so close to the first, I think he plows forward.

well, the McCoy play didn't matter in the end

stupid play calling by the 49ers

ball at the 44 with a minute left and a lot of wild passes, just get a few more yards and kick

That's what people who played in Pittsburgh do.

Yep, I think he was told to avoid contact at all costs. He is their best offensive weapon out there. They need him healthy.

Seriously though, this..

Plus he's on my fantasy team, I don't need him out for an extended period of time :)

He said he thought he had the first down.

I don't think the ribs could be part of the decision there with the game on the line.

Cant and shouldnt.....but hes human. Getting hit hurts like a mutherfucker. Human nature kicks in and you avoid pain when the decision is a split second one like that.

Yeah but I think he thought he already had the first down so he thought it was ok to slide down there and avoid any unnecessary contact.

Rather than just avoid the contact to avoid it, which is a little different.

But maybe because he was doing it the rest of the game he was still in that mindset. That could be true.

I was seriously watching the Reds game and only watched a few minutes of the Eagles-49ers game.

Rare occasion when I can watch the majority of a live MLB game over a live NFL game but that game really didn't interest me.

I think he thought it was 2nd and 10, when it was in fact 2nd and 13. He got 10 yards, and he's so used to knowing how long 10 yards is...couple that with the injury, and the fumble on the previous series and that'll do it.

That's waht I told my roommate while watching.
