Plan on putting them up tomorrow. I really like those neon blue ones, as opposed to the fat colorful ones which I have done routinely in the past. We will also be putting up 2 48in bucks and a lighted tree on the porch.
A ton of people already have theirs up but I think its taboo to put them up before turkey day.
Anyone else have theirs up? If so what lights did you go with?

This has always been a very strange practice to me.

Holy Cow everyone has them up here in Pickerington...I am losing my mind...I couldn't even enjoy my turkey yesterday because out the front window I see my neighbors giant blow up Snowman looking into my window....

No outdoor lights this year. Maybe a wreath on the door if I feel up to it.
Christmas tree only for us.
It used to be that I one of the things I enjoyed at this time of the year was Christmas lights. Then came Halloween lights, blow-up turkeys at Thanksgiving, green lights at Easter, etc.
It's just lost its "mystical" appeal to me.

I do not decorate at all but enjoy driving around seeing all the places that are lit up.

Just finished them up a little while ago. A string over the garage door, 3 of those little swirlie tree thingies and a garland with some lights in it. We dont go up on the roof anymore; haven't for about 7 or 8 years.

Put up icicle lights and cut down our christmas tree out of our own yard this year. Didn't have a tree last year as it was our first year in the house and we just didnt get to it. I forgot how nice it is to have a tree.

My girls just finished decorating the tree. They asked me to put up some outdoor lights but I had to respectfully decline.
Guess I just earned a Bad Dad Award.

Finished this afternoon. Nothing fancy a string of icicle lights with colored ropes above. Some oversized bulbs hanging in them and some garland around the porch posts. The wife and kids put up the tree and decorated it! I do not like those blowup things, they are to cheesy IMO! lol

Mine have been up for two weeks but we haven't turned them on yet, I have to wait at least until after Thanksgiving to turn them on.

I have nothing to do with the tree/lights. We don't decorate outside at all..our stuff always comes up missing when we do. So I just said f*ck it and quit. Wife is putting the tree up right now as I type. She always does it the weekend after Thanksgiving.
