eh. If Im gonna sit here and make fun of volleyball player for using it in a gym, Im gonna have to make fun of athletes who use it outside. Why? Because between the lights and the sun...neither are affected by the dumb eye black.

This is obviously speculation but I get the feeling they are probably wearing it to project that they are "hardcore" or something. I wasn't a fan of the stuff when I played football because I didn't really think it worked. It's more for "show" than having any practical use, IMO.

I HATED that guy. He was such a rule nazi. I think he spent most of his day prowling the forums looking for inappropriate threads and seeing how quickly he could shut them down.

Every HS girl team on the planet wears eye-black now so they look BA. Last year at a cross-town football rivalry game one of the cheerleading squads wore eye-black.

I was watching a college football game and they said now that the NCAA has outlawed eye black with images on it, that a team equip. mgr said they probably wont use one tube of eye black this year. Said a lot about the fad of eye black.

I think a lot of that also has to do with most of the eye black you see out there(writing or none) is basically a sticker.

If I were a still playing and had a choice (were it legal) I'd just go with one of the darkened eye shields that fit on the facemask for blocking sunlight and protecting my eyes (Lasik).
