Apparently there are some rumor floating around about trade talks between Minnesota and New England for Randy Moss. Bill Simmons inadvertently fanned the flames when he accidentally tweeted "Moss vikings" instead of sending it as a direct message to someone. Oops...

Draft picks?? I think they've proven they can win and score without Moss so they might as well try to get something out of him before the season is over and he's gone.

This is probably what is happening, but Moss is still elite. Is this saying that they are giving up on the season this year? I mean, they are still a contender...not a favorite, but a contender none the less. Unless they are getting some guys that can help them now...which I cannot see Minny giving up starters....I don't like this at all.

WOW, here comes another trade rape by NE. They will probably get two first round picks or something ridiculous. I don't understand why teams agree to any of their bullshit trades. Too many teams in the NFL are prolonging the pats stay as a playoff franchise.

I dunno, he has caught 2 passes the last two games. Granted they were both TDs against the Bills, but there have been some rumors about him being black balled. Hell, he only has 4 TARGETS over the last two games. Maybe Belichick senses Moss is one of his "I play when I want to" stretches. That stuff doesn't fly in NE.

Could be. He does have that habit of not playing hard when he isn't happy.

I'm thinking Minnesota would not give up any more than a 2nd or 3rd round pick for him, right?

I can't remember....what did NE give up for him? Wasn't like a 4th or something...they really fleeced someone

True, but Moss had very little value at the time. He was still sandbagging in a big way. People thought he was washed up. Turns out he just didn't care.

Espn is reporting it is very close to being done. Vikings putting all their eggs in this years basket. Sounds like a coach trying to save his ass.

a mid round pick for a WR = putting all your eggs in one basket? Hmmm

To me it seems like a pretty good move. They need a big play WR desperately, their window is closing, and they are trying to win. Sounds like a no brainer to me

Hopefully Childress is part of the package. He can be the dude who catches balls for TomBrady while he's warming up or something since he can't coach. Viks may as well go for broke this year, b/c there chances of a SB decrease even further next season. Still don't believe they are a serious threat to win it this year; last year was their year. Moss can only help with Rice out.

Moss, Rice, Harvin, Shiancoe would be a nice grroup should they be able to even sneak into the post season.

As of 2:30 am est, An agreement was in place and it will be announced later today pending Moss working out a deal with Minnesota.

Moss is expected to sign through the 2014 season at 9 million per.

Favre is sporting wood and his ankle is now at 100% according to sources close to the situation. ;)

Don't be surprised to see Favre also extend his contract.

Bernard Berrian and a 5th rounder to New England is what i'm hearing.

ESPN reported this morning a 3rd for Moss. If so, the Pats will have their own picks and the 1st, 2nd & 3rd of other teams.

If this deal goes down, expect Vincent Jackson (Chargers) to become a Patriot.

Moss was pissed when Brady signed that extension earlier this year I see this as no big shocker. Sucks that he is going to Minny though but him and Grandpa should be good together.
I cant stand Vincent Jackson but he will go up a few notches if he goes to NE

I think this is a great trade for each team. The Vikings desperately needed a WR and now they get their guy. Plus, they have one shot to get their rings and once Rice comes back and they are all healthy they are going to be scary.

As for New England, Moss wasn't happy and they weren't going to resign him. Plus, I think they are realistic enough to know that they might be a year away from Super Bowl contender due to their inexperience on defense. And how you look at the draft picks they have next year and they are setup really nice to really add some talent during the offseason.
