We have a very solid Oline, of the top in the league by most accounts. Sure we could get an upgrade at RT, but Pashos has played solid thus far. Luck is the real deal, Mallett is DA part 2. Its time to get a real QB to build around. We also desperately need a real WR, our WRs might be among the bottom 3 of the league.

The "putting pressure on the QB" issue could get a lot worse. With Eric Wright's recent subpar performances, Mangini is saying they will send less DB's on a blitz and give the corners more help over the top which means LB's & DL have to get to the QB.

I think Roth and Benard are good enough in the pass rush department.

Our front 7 are abysmal at pressuring the QB. They get there but it's always too late.

Matt Roth's 2 sacks and Kenyon Coleman's sack say otherwsie. the only issue I have is with our ILBer being able to shed a block and get in the backfield. Our dline isn't structured to rush the QB so I dont expect much from them. Fujitia isn't a good pass rusher either (great in Run support/coverage though), so we're at a disadvantage there. Which leaves them to double Roth. When Benard is on the field thoguh, its a different scenario. More of a scheme thing, I think as Bernard develops and gets better in pass coverage we're going to see less Fujitia. I hope they move Fujitia inside which I suspect they will at some point this season. I also would like to see Gocong used at OLBer as his skill sets would be best suited for that role IMO. Our personel is fine in the front seven, its up for our coaching staff to sit Barton's ass on the bench and use the players to their skill sets to get full potential. You also have to give some credit to the opposing offense and their line as well. You cant expect pressure or a sack on every down, its not going to happen.

We're we are at a distinct talent disadvantage is the QB/WR. We wont go anywhere with Jake Delhomme as our main QB. We dont have a playmaker at the WR spot either. outside of a blown coverage there isn't a guy on our squad capable of getting open consistently.

Any pass rush you get from your D-Line in a 3-4 is a bonus. It just seems like the guys we have at OLB (besides Bernard) are big & bulky, designed to be more run stoppers.

I agree with the QB/WR thing. We also need a stud RT which goes back to the whole "why Robiskie when Loadholt was on the board" thing.

Ugh, don't remind me. Might be my most hateded pick of all time. Its between that or Wimbley over Ngata, though I suppose I will give the edge to missing on Loadholt because we eneded with Vickers as part of the Nagata debacle.

We need an impact linebacker, a competent QB, and a complete retooling of our WR's.

That might be enough to make the playoffs. So about 4-5 more 1st round draft picks(read: 4-5 years) that don't bust out.

They should get a quality player since they will be picking in the top five again.
