I've doubted that Denard could keep putting up those numbers almost every single week. I still doubt it this week, but I'm starting to think he's the real deal.

RRod said in post-game that Shaw will be back this week.

Haha- so true. Here's hoping Greg Jones looks like Lawrence Taylor from Tecmo Bowl.Mohican00;505696 wrote:I don't know about this one......I'd like to think that a fundamentally more sound team (MSU) won't get beat by a guy playing like Randall Cunningham in Tecmo Bowl.

I really like Michigan State, they were very physical against Wisconsin, which is saying something because Wisconsin year in and year out is one of the more physical teams in the Big Ten. If they can defend Robinson (which, the way to do that is to ram it down Michigan's throat and keep him off the field), I think they win it
This is where Michigan stars to meet the more physical teams in the Big Ten. It'll be interesting to see how they respond.
MSU- 41
UM- 28

Is college gameday going to be there? If they aren't they should be. I think D Rob get slowed down, but not stopped. MSU 35-28.
Edit: I see they are playing up the SEC on ESPN angle and are going to Alabama vs USC game. dumb.

I don't think MSU/Mich holds much interest nationally right now.

I must be biased because I would rather watch a rivalry game and see if UM is finally back, instead of watching a crappy USC team get blown out by Alabama

I don't think South Carolina is crappy, I'd say they're an average team. It's Saban vs. Spurrier though, and that probably holds more national attention.

I am not going to be able to catch this game as i am going to the KSU Akron game. Michigan's Defense is not playing good enough to beat any good big ten opponent. However, they will look better this week as they are much better at stopping the run and that is what MSU loves to do. All this talk about a real defense is a joke IMO as ND has a very good defense IMO But with all that said MSU should win this game. Unless MSU makes mistakes(turnovers) they are going to win this game. Michigan is going to score points but MSU will prolly score more. I am saying MSU 42 and Michigan 28. Until Michigan's Defense plays better they only have 2 more games left that they can win IMO. Michigan always plays inspired football in this game so I would not be shocked if big blue pulls this one out. However it would be a poor pick to choose Michigan. I hope I am wrong but go blue.
The biggest issue I have with the defense so far is that they play scared. They give guys 10 yard on every play and any good QB is going to nickle and dime them down the field. Get up, stop being a pussy(Greg Robinson) if your going to get beat its going to happen but don't give people easy opportunities. They are young but do not lack that much talent IMO. Sure mistakes will be made and passes will beat you deep but you can not make plays if your not there to do so.

I just can't see a 3-3-5 being successful in the Big 10. If you're going to try it, you HAVE to be aggressive! The MSU running game is leaps and bounds above any that UM has seen this season. I think we'll see exactly where the UM program stands after this game.bo shemmy3337;507030 wrote:I am not going to be able to catch this game as i am going to the KSU Akron game. I also anticipate Denard Robinson having a 3-4 week injury in the coming games.

I agree 100% They have to be more aggressive or they are not going to stop anyone.

I don't think it's the scheme as much as how they are not properly using it. The problem is they are only rushing 3 to make up for the weak secondary. But then a QB like Chappell gets to stand in the pocket for 5-7 seconds. They also play so soft and so far off the ball that 5 -10 yard routes are almost automatic.
I think your last sentence is dead on.

Curious...if Michigan beats MSU say, 49-42, what will your opinion of this team be?

Seeing that game, the first that would come to mind is how bad both defenses are. A game like that rarely ever says anything about how good a team is, but more about how bad they were.

I am going to love Michigan regardless but if they do win this weekend and the score is similar to what you predicted, I am still going to put them at 8-4. Picking them to win any game other than Illinois and Purdue would just be bad predictions at this point in time. Predictions are one thing, who I root for is a whole different story lol. GO BLUE!!!

If Michigan put up 49 points I would think that Michigan's offence continues to impress me and that MSU's defense isn't what I thought it was. I KNOW that Michigan's defense sucks and MSU has a good running game so the 42 wouldn't be a shocker at all.

So hold on..if michigan scores a lot of points it doesnt mean they have a legit defense...it just means MSU's defense is overrated?
