Seems like at least once a month 10 tv has a story about this on the news. Unless you are physically beaten until you die, the term holds no water. Its a cop out by parents and loved ones to place blame on anyone but the kid him/herself. Im sick of hearing about the stories honestly

I disagree. There certainly are cases where extensive bullying ends up in a suicide, and it's tough (crazy?) to suggest that the bullies had nothing to do with it. Are they ultimately responsible? Probably not. Were they a heavily contributing factor? Absolutely.

Idk agree that it may be a contributing factor that maybe life kinda sucks at times bc you get picked on. But the decision to kill yourself is yours and yours alone and I dont see how anyone else can get blamed for something you did to yourself.

No, what made me start the thread was actually a story on 10tv news that is coming up soon. Kid killed himself and now the parents are blaming the school and bullies. But that may be what the story is about...it hasnt aired just yet

I tend to agree with this.

This makes me so mad. What is wrong with out society. I am 29. I was bullied all the way through school because I am a grenade. I am overweight. I wear glasses, and I am not attractive. But guess what, I got over it.

Kids today are just so mentally weak. Our society as a whole has become weak. Suck it up, don't take the easy way out and kill yourself.

I also think this problem is fortified by the reliance our society puts on electronics. Kids today are on their computers, phones, the internet, and video game systems all the time. I think the line between real and fake is blurred. These kids can not funtion in society because they have no real world interactions.

Pretty wild accusations and generalizations there Red...I know alot of HS kids in my neighborhood who play 2 and sometimes 3 sports per year. Do they play the X-box etc too? Sure...sometimes but mostly these kids are running from football to lacrosse to hockey to soccer with some tae-kwondo and gymnastics thrown in for good measure. Kids are no worse today than they were 60 yrs ago, just a little different.

I'm with FFT. The bullies play a part in these things, should they be put on trial for murder/manslaughter/etc.?? No. but they play a part in these things nonetheless.

If we didn't coddle our current younger pathetic generation, but rather smacked/whipped them for being out of line, showed them how to "be a man", and encouraged real face to face interactions instead of weird encounters on chatroulette, our youngest generation would have a lot more in shape ass kickers, less homosexuals, who knew how to take orders and we would have a better society than the shit hole we currently are in.

Also, technology hasn't improved anyones lives. Don't give in to these electronic/computer companies. Technology and free media (internet) has basically ruined capitalism (example: the US right meow), helped create families who instead of interacting in their homes are each on their own laptops in separate rooms, ruined english prose and short term memory in children/adults, and if an apocalypse occurs, everyone will be so outrageously F-ed that they would die within 2 weeks.

All of what i said is truth, sorry for not having sympathy for a kid killing himself over something that 99.9 % of kids have to experience. If all kids that got picked on offed themselves wed have about 3 kids reach adulthood. FACT
