Great...you have any thoughts yourself, because I could have pulled this article up myself if I didn't want others thoughts.

There are so many possible distractions in the car, it was pretty naive to think texting bans were gonna have an impact on accident #'s. These bans are basically a way for cities, counties, and states to make a little extra money, just like the seatbelt laws.

Not all laws are going to be deterrents but rather some will simply be used as punishment.

lol I think its kinda funny that in my hometown they have digital like signs on the side of the road that the police i assume put there that scroll a message "Be smart, dont text and drive". Now if u dont want me to text and drive because it distracts me and draws my eyes away from the road....then why put a flashing sign on the side of the road that also draws my attention away also?

I do love the irony in this story.

down at Ft. Stewart where i was stationed, they had this long road that cut through a forest for miles and miles. many many people were killed on that road because its basically a straight shot with trees along the way the whole time and it just puts people(mostly drunks) to sleep. well they put up signs on the side of the road that formed a sentence, but had only like 3 or 4 words per sign so it took like 5 or 6 signs to get their message across. i thought it was kinda funny because people would be driving along trying to read these signs.

"A driver who is texting while driving in violation of a law may simply hold the phone down low and out of sight, Fleming said, making the behavior even riskier."
