Attendance, TV views, fan club size, blackouts (or in the browns case lack of them), etc.... I guess MC doesnt teach you to look at other variables other than jersey sales.

Uhhh I don't know, how about Browns fans have sold out every game since they have been back, and they never had any of their games blacked out? They also don't need kroger or some idiot receiver to purchase tickets to prevent a blackout.
Merchandise sales doesn't mean shit. Why would Cleveland fans buy any jerseys when their players normally end up leaving (see winslow, braylon, couch, brown, warren, etc)? As you already proven yourself wrong, merchandise figures just indicate a team is doing well. Let's not forget Cleveland is one of the poorest cities out there. The fans actually spend their money wisely when it comes to showing support for the Browns AKA they actually show up to the games. The ratio of Browns bandwagon fans to Bengals bandwagon fans is about 1:100. Don't even get me started about fair weather fans. Nice fail.

Man everyone is so quick to get defensive in here. Jordo never said that Browns fans are bandwagoners, just that there will always be some bandwagon aspects to any fan base, which is the truth. The minute teams start winning there will always be an increase in merchandising sales. If the Browns have as many fans as Commander of Awesome claims (citing fan club membership for the Browns as proof of the lack of bandwagoning within the fan base), then why aren't they in the top 10 for merchandise sales? And no its not because the players leave. I'm sure jersey sales for Braylon Edwards shot up during the 2007 season. I'm a Browns fan through and through and I know there are still fans that show up despite the team having been garbage in recent history. But you can't deny that there are some fans that become super Browns fan #1 the minute the Browns start winning and are relatively ambivalent about them otherwise.

1st off I never said that Browns fans are bandwagon fans. Some people are just dense.
*attendance- most everybody expects to sell out their homes games and most teams do. Not a good gauge to determine whether a fanbase has more bandwagon fans
* tv viewership- flawed way to look at it as well. Games are shown in regions and people in that region aren't always fans of that team, yet they still watch. (Increasing the ratings while not necessarily rooting for the team). Two weeks ago I watched Cleveland play Baltimore, I'm not a fan of either team.
Thus that is why I fell back on merchandise sales. What do people use to pin the "bandwagon" tag on a fan? A dude walking around wearing the team colors. Often they walk around wearing "AFC North Champions" shirts or something like that. When you look at the leaders, pretty much all of the teams are winning franchises. My point was that if Cleveland did not have any bandwagon fans, then they should be right up there in merchandise sales with the other franchises. You even say that these supposed cash strapped fans are going to the games but now they can't buy a $20 shirt?
Everybody has bandwagon fans. Even the Browns and yes the Bengals have their fair share. Probably moreso than the Browns? I'm not really sure what we are arguing??

The losers are still bragging about beating the Steelers last season. Doesn't take much to excite them.

How so? Because we get excited about a win, we won the Superbowl?
At least we get excited...if the Bengals were 0-3 and just got their first victory, there wouldn't even be a thread about it. There would be no such thing as a Bengals fan.

Yeah we get really excited about wins...that makes us great fans. The only thing Pittsburgh fans get excited for now a days is how many games their players will get suspended for.

Hes not a Pittsburgh "fan"......dont waste your time. Hes on the Browns threads more than he is on the Steelers threads. He knows nothing about that team or organization, hes just a troll looking for attention.

I see Jordo is still crying, and now pick6 had to chime in. Go cry somewhere else. Browns fans are trying to enjoy their win. You don't see us raining on your parade when your teams win. TROLLS for life.
WAHHH we are band wagon fans, WAHHHH that was a cheap shot!, WAHH you guys are celebrating a win (even though what the fuck else should we do?), WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WAHHHHHHHH WAHHHHHHHHHH.

Shipley....it was an extremely late hit...the ball was dropped way before the hit.
