When I Google "ohio high school sports forums" the first two sites that come up are JJHuddle and Yappi. How can we get the OC up there? I don't see us anywhere when I search that actually. It would be nice to somehow get in the top 3. Anyone know how to do this?

Justin would have to change the description of the site. Right now it is 'general discussion and sports forums. JJHuddle's description is specifically 'High School Sports Forums'.

^^I typed that in and we aren't in the first 5 pages, but if I put Ohio in front of that, then we are in the middle of the second page.

It has a lot to do with the tags and such you assign to the site and there are things you can do to make your site appear better for certain searches.

Sort of off topic...but I was looking at theknot.com yesterday and someone on there suggested a girl post a question over here about an OSU party bus for after her wedding. I chuckled.

There is a decent amount of HS sports talk...but moreso, there is a need for another GOOD site to talk HS football since JJ's is a bunch of db's that want me to pay to talk. Plus, I hate Yappi...

Then why have the forums?
If you have them why not promote them. This will grow the others as well.
You have alot of people here for HS sports that also enjoy the other forums.

We have them because people like them and use them. Though they are more an ancillary feature anymore.

I know a lot of people on this site that wouldn't be here if there were no HS sports forums...including myself. Since they are here, I am here...and the other forums are just a bonus to me. I am sorry, but a bs forum site isn't much of a site. Promoting HS sports will bring this site all the people they need. Plus, really, we are an offshoot of a HS sports site...why wouldn't that be one of the main things we push.

On gameday, only 18 threads have been replied on in the football forum. Not exactly humping. Not trying to be negative, but I just don't think people come here for it.

They don't come here for it yet....plus....there are hundreds of members on this site that don't post because there aren't enough other HS sports people already posting.
LJ...if there are tons of other big forums out there to BS...why would this one do anything but shrink...the site needs to have something different.

It does. There isn't one other good general chat Ohio centric forum on the net. I can guarentee that half of your "members" are here because they were on JJs for HS sports...and came here expecting the same thing.
Traffic on this site is WAY down...I can't imagine how much it would go down if you took away the HS sports forums.
Why not promote it as both?

Who said anything about taking it away? I don't understand how talking about nothing will draw people to this site. I have never been on a forum to talk about nothing specific. I go on a lot of different forums...all of which have a central focus...and bs isn't a central focus.

I was using "taking it away" as an example. I just think if you promote HS sports (in which there is really only one other FREE site out there) then the people will come...and then you can chat it up about whatever you want with a lot more people.

This isn't a talk about nothing, it's talk about everything, and those forums perform the best. Ummm...it is for sure down...YOUR main area...SERIOUS BUSINESS isn't moving near as fast as it was....there are points throughout the day where it is downright dead. I truly feel that is because there isn't anything special here to draw people in.... plus the HS sports are dwindling because nobody new is coming in....plus you don't find this site when you search for it from a HS sports standpoint.

Okay, maybe I just don't get it....but explain to me how you PROMOTE a talk about whatever the hell you want forum? It is easy to promote a site that you can talk about whatever but has a central focus like HS sports.
