And people wonder why everyone hates ND? I agree, and this is a good post. Most Notre Dame fans I know understand what their situation is. I have not been here long so I have not interacted with many of the Notre Dame fans.

Sleeper, why do you feel the need to berate Notre Dame fans? While Notre Dame now is not what they once were and most of the Notre Dame I know realize this you want to rub in and express hyperbolic statements that are somewhat demeaning.

Just so you know Sleeper IF Notre Dame decided to lighten up their academic standards they would be right back in the mix of the elite teams in FBS. Their great tradition is still recent enough that they could take many top line recruits.

Those are rhetorical questions Sleeper, There is no way to tell how a high school kid will develop those top ten recruiting classes are totally meaningless. To prove my point where is Boise St in recruiting classes?

It seems that every year we see the same teams with high recruiting classes yet some have little success compared to what we are being sold. Notre Dame has not had one top ten recruiting class in a long while it is very obvious from the on field performance displayed by Notre Dame. How many National titles did Lou Holtz win while not at Notre Dame? Did his recruiting skills increase?

I am not a Notre Dame fan, I am a Buckeye fan, but I understand the tradition and academic standards set forth by Notre Dame.
Notre Dame could return to the elite very simply, many kids want to play there, but do not have the high school academic credentials to get in.
