I may be missing some big ones, but off the top of my head ...

Big 10:

Tom Brady
Drew Brees
Chad Henne
Kyle Orton

SEC

Peyton Manning
Eli Manning
Jay Cutler
Matthew Stafford
Jason Campbell

ACC

Phillip Rivers
Matt Schaub
Matt Ryan
Matt Hasselbeck (can't remember when BC joined the ACC)

Pac 10

Aaron Rodgers
Carson Palmer
Mark Sanchez
Matt Cassel

Big 12

Vince Young
Sam Bradford
Josh Freeman

I think, as of now, the Big 10, SEC and ACC all have a case ... thoughts? The Big East had McNabb, but I can't think of anyone else of note other than maybe Mark Bulger.

I would say:

1st tier: Big ten, SEC

2nd Tier: Pac10, ACC

3rd Tier: Big 12, Big East

I believe hasselbeck played for BC when they were in the Big East.

SEC and Big Ten. They compose of the top 2 QBs and then Brady is top 5 and Eli is around 10. Cutler is pretty good for where he would be placed on the conference list as well as Henne and Orton. Stafford is too young. The only real bad QB from those conference lists is Campbell.

Matt Hasselbeck should be Big East I believe. I think Big Ten and SEC are tops with the ACC coming up strong in 3rd. If having to pick between the Big Ten and SEC I'd go Big Ten as Brees and Brady are both top 5 while Orton has been pretty solid and Chad Henne has looked good. Peyton is the best IMO but Eli is definitely behind Brees and Brady while Cutler throws too many INTs(might change this year) and Stafford is still really young, though I think he has a lot of potential.

Big Ten hands down.

B10 and SEC both have two Super Bowl champs, but the B10 has more titles between them.

Orton is okay, Henne hasn't proven anything one way or the other yet. Cutler and Campbell pretty much suck ass (hey, maybe Cutler is finally ready to pay off for someone but he's sucked so far). Stafford is a wait and see. I will take OK and Unproven over Suck Ass, Suck Ass, and Unproven.

The ACC looks to have the next good wave, but they haven't done anything yet.

It doesnt take winning superbowls to be the best QB's in football. You can be the best QB......and if you have no one around you or a defense, then you wont win superbowls. There's one QB that never won a super bowl but is one of the best qb's of all time. Then you got Trent Dilfer who was average and won a super bowl.

Im far from a Cutler supporter. But no way does he suck ass if your scale has Orton as being ok.

Yeah, you are right about that. I guess I just haven't heard how great Orton is supposed to be for a few years and then see him suck ass (which IS the case for Cutler). They both really suck ass.

Agree. But if you are already a good/great quarterback, then those titles separate you from the pack. Most people know the difference between talking about Brady's Super Bowls (and now Drew Brees and his Super Bowl) versus Trent Dilfer's Super Bowl. Even saying that, there's really no reason why any great QB hasn't won a SB. It isn't like Marino didn't have talent around him. It isn't like Kelly didn't get 4 tries. Dilfer is really an exception and so are great QBs without titles.

If I had to rank the Big 10 and SEC qb's into tiers it would go something like this (in no particular order):

Tier 1: Brady, Brees, Peyton Manning

Tier 2: Eli Manning

Tier 3: Cutler, Orton

Tier 4: Campbell, Stafford, Henne

Just in my opinion.

^ I'm sorry, but that list is ridiculous.

Aaron Rodgers? Tony Romo? Joe Flacco? Matt Schaub? Philip Rivers? Ben Roethlisburger? I'm sure I'm missing some, but all of those go ahead of the last five guys you mentioned.
